Drew Peterson Arrested Over Third Wife's Murder
New pictures have emerged of Drew Peterson's arrest Thursday. Peterson, the ex-cop under investigation for his fourth wife Stacy Peterson's 2007 disappearance, has been jailed on two first-degree murder counts in the 2004 death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, authorities said, and he is scheduled to be arraigned today.

"I've been through hell," Savio's sister, Sue Savio, told ABC News amid Peterson's arrest. "Hopefully, he's gonna get what's coming to him."

Peterson, 55, was being held at the Will County Adult Detention Facility in Joliet, Ill., with bond set at $20 million, and could face 60 years in jail, Will County State's Attorney James W. Glasgow said.

"This is a grave and serious matter, and I think that's reflected in the bond," Glasgow told reporters.

<snip>
A former Illinois police officer suspected in his wife’s disappearance may have a new job — on a TV reality show set in a Nevada brothel.

Drew Peterson says he’s considering an offer to appear as an employee at the Moonlight Bunny Ranch near Reno for an HBO adult series called “Cathouse.”

Peterson publicist Glenn Selig says there would be nothing wrong with the role for the former police sergeant in the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook.

6. And if it wasn't for Stacy's disappearance, Kathleen's body never would have been exhumed
even though Kathleen's family believed that she had been killed by Peterson. I wonder if Peterson being a cop had something to do with Kathleen's death originally being determined as accidental.

Hopefully, justice will be served.

Every time I've seen him interviewed, he gives me the creeps. I am not a judge or jury but I think Peterson is a sociopath and belongs behind bars for the rest of his life.

20. I remember that and he had that same self-satisfied smirk on his face that he has
when he has been interviewed (several times) on the Today Show. On the news this morning, it was reported that upon being arrested he made a joke about being arrested because he had an over due library book.

25. Yes, him being a cop had everything to do with it.
The original jury to determine whether there was foul play involved in the death of his 3rd wife had one of his cop buddies on it. It was a whitewash from the very beginning.

11. This is a good thing.
Mr. Peterson provides an example of many of the tell-tale signs of being a true sociopath. Clearly, the worst thing he has done is to kill two of his wives, in a manner that (to borrow a phrase from Nancy Grace) was like throwing out trash. He "discarded" two human beings, when they no longer were of use to him, and when he felt that their being alive was an inconvenience that threatened his need for pleasure. Killing people that he "loved" appears to have provided him with great pleasure. I would be surprised if these were the only two women that he has killed.

An added feature of Mr. Peterson's character is the utter contempt he feels for others. The true sociopath always has an "I'm so much smarter than you, that I can feed you lies with ease" attitude. This includes family, friends, and co-workers. Clearly, Mr. Peterson had no respect for not only the women he married, but also the police officers and investigators he worked with.

This contempt expands for the larger society. He believed that he was so smart, that not only had he committed "the perfect crimes" (placing him beyond the reach of the law), but that our society was so inferior, that he could translate his cold-blooded character traits into celebrity, and cash in on the stupidity of the public. The only sub-group of the public who he held in greater contempt than those who confronted him on his lies, were those who believed him.

I am glad that he was arrested.

...rubbing salt in the wounds that he had made on others.

Sick, creepy and demented.

19. More Than A Sociopath...
H20man...there's a little backstory to Peterson that hasn't gotten much focus on the nation level. It's his background in law enforcement. Firstly, this background surely could come in handy in knowing what to do with a body or ways to take down a victim and cast enough doubt about the cause of death to avoid either suspicion or arrest. The fact its taken this long and an intensive investigation (and many have been gunning to lock this dude up since day one) shows he learned lessons well.

The other factor is the area in which this case is taking place in. A relatively quiet suburban area that is still more like a small town than a part of a metro area. It's where, despite a population boom in the past decade, everyone knows everyone else...especially the "old timers". Peterson has/had many friends and also knew a lot of the dirty little secrets. Maybe it's denial or fear, but I have several friends from the Bollingbrook area who will claim all day that Peterson's being set up and it's a media thing. Methinks an upcoming trial could open up a little Payton Place of side stories and scandals.

The fact that Peterson not only was able to get away with any arrest for this long and how the media has turned him into a celebrity says more about how poorly this case has been handled.

Cheers...

Once you go Drew, your skin will go blue!

Unbelievable that he's still getting way-the-hell-out-of-his-league, half his age women when anyone with a brain stem can figure out he's nothing more than a two-bit serial killer.

I am nearly 100% defense oriented. It is gonna be a real difference for me to cheer for the prosecution. Drew Peterson is lower than a POS.

Also, the first wife didn't disappear - she was found dead in a bathtub.

26. I believe that was his 3rd wife. His first and second are thankfully still alive.
But there's a good deal of evidence to suggest that he abused both of them very badly.

30. is that right?
i read the story of his latest marriage in people mag when i was waiting in the dentist's office, so i might be out of the loop.;) it said that the woman's father was incensed by the marriage, so i'm sure he had his eye on the a-hole the whole time. that only makes her more of an idiot for pulling something like that. five broken marriages have to tell you something about dude, no matter how they ended.
