Really Keith, really?
Are Sarah Palin's poll numbers and Joethenotreallyaplumber leaving the GOP the most important stories of the day?

Wonder if he had a chance to watch Ed's show today.

flame away....

1. That's important stuff
Those are Rush's babies and they're crashing like ninepins.
Palin won't even win back the governor's post in Alaska.

Go Alaskans - run that mad woman out of town.

4. Yeah but Ed was showing the Senate single payer protest
A tad more important than GOP sideshow geeks.

10. A protest - is that really a rarity? How big of a group and did they say anything substantive?

15. Eight doctors and lawyers
They all stood up, one after the other. One would get arrested and taken away, then the next would stand up and say their peace.

It wasn't a shoutfest, it was pointed questions to the chairman, Max Baucus. They wanted to know why no single-payer advocates were invited.

It was an inspiring bit of direct civil action.

19. True I saw that and it was good
and clearly more important but the Rushican soap opera is also good news. I love a feeding frenzy. Let them eat one another live on TV. I'll watch. Palin losing popularity in Alaska is great news.

2. I think the ongoing implosion of the GOP is an important story.

3. A variety of stories is good
I'd hate it if the MSNBC shows all covered the same stories. Some levity, in the news, is a good thing.

5. Perhaps not
the most "important" stories... but after Ed and Hardball I actually like being able to have a chuckle.

Keith is entitled to frame his show the way he likes - he has done a lot to keep me sane over the last few years. :)

6. I agree with OP....
Edited on Thu May-07-09 07:24 PM by gblady
stories of the GOP imploding have been going on for a long time...
who gives a rip about Joe or Sarah...I don't...
IMHO, they are yesterday's news.

That an opinion shared by 64% of the US people does not get heard at a
health care forum.....and Drs and Nurses are handcuffed and arrested...
now that's news....
I don't understand why it's not covered in prime time news.

edited to add:
Unfortunately here on the West Coast, Ed is on at 3:00
so it is not seen by many folks.

8. Lately I have been feeling that Keith covers the same stories every single nite.
His show used to excite me - now to be honest, it's mostly background noise.

I just heard him say that coming up he is going to covering the succession story...yawn...yeah, I know the republicans are idiots.

He has done an excellent job reporting on the torture issue - but tell me something new...

That said, I will continue to watch him every nite....not giving up on him.

Same here in Az, Ed's on at 3. Thank goodness for tivo.

7. Who was on Ed?
I am loving Ed. This week I'm studying for finals all night and I've been catching the Ed reruns in the wee hours of the morning.

9. He had a nurse on that was trying to get invited to the Baucus hearing on healthcare.
Very interesting segment on why single payer healthcare is not on the table.
Talked about the protesters - and Ed asked the question why is the finance committee the ones doing the hearings on healthcare - shouldn't it be the committee on healthcare.
Howard Dean was on.

He took the banks to the woodshed for wasting our money.

Michael Savage was his psycho talk person.

Had a great discussion panel on healthcare - lots of heated discussion.

11. I did not see it.....
because I was working...but I heard part of his radio show...
He was on fire about the single payer issue...
He said he would have Dr who was arrested,
and I read Dean was there.
I am hoping to see a video.

Here are a couple threads on it

12. You got it backwards -
KO does a countdown - that's why the show is called "Countdown," see?

The LEAST important story leads off.

Feel better?

13. No - usually his last story is about something silly or about sports.
He usually starts out with the big story.

Maybe I just have Palin and Plumber burnout. I really don't care about either one of them.

14. I know ...........
They're not newsworthy, but we keep hearing about them.

Well, that's the curse of the cable news networks and the Internet(s) tubes. But, at least we have the option of hitting the "mute" button.

I really thought of it as the silliest story, and then he got down to serious stuff. Even KO has to bow to the ratings and advertising gods, who must be appeased with periodic offerings, like the limp bodies of Sarah Palin and Wurzelbacher.

This sounds like they're on their final swirl in the toilet of public opinion. Hang in there. We'll still be around when they're gone..............................
