NO! to everything-Repubs don't even like Obama's SPENDING CUTS (seriously)
Republicans Deride Obama's $17B Proposed Cut in Federal Spending
Sen. Judd Gregg told FOX News President Obama's $17 billion figure needs to be put in the context of his $3.4 trillion budget.

WASHINGTON -- The ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee said Thursday he's not impressed by President Obama's proposal to cut $17 billion out of the federal budget.

Appearing on FOX News, Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., said it's important to place the $17 billion figure in the context of the president's $3.4 trillion budget.

"It's as if you took a teaspoon of water out of the bathtub while you left the spicket on at full speed," he said.

"Basically right now we're running up a debt that is so high as a percentage of our gross national product that we couldn't even get into the European union," he said. "I mean we're headed to third-world country status if we keep this up."

Republicans weren't impressed with the cuts.

"While we appreciate the newfound attention to saving taxpayer dollars from this administration, we respectfully suggested that we should do far more," House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, said.

2. Typical Fox news reporting: it's SPIGOT not SPICKET. The little blue line that shows up when you
make a typo is your friend.

12. "spicket" LOL!
Plus, a SPIGOT is not something that is 'on' or 'off', it's either 'in' or 'out.'

No wonder Mr. Plumber quit the party.

5. They referred to the cuts as "pocket change."
Which, when you consider the astronomical amount of ruinous debt put up by the last three republican Presidents, is pretty accurate.

7. Obama couldn't win with them in this situation...
He spent too much money... he's not spent enough money... he's created too much debt... blah blah blah

Yet no one takes into account that the world financial situation was broken. Obama could have let it all crumble, but then you know what the whining would be about then!

Never, ever do they speak of the reasons for the spending.

9. You are right.
I remind Republicans all the time that Obama would not be a big spender if they had not spent so much over 28 years. If they had not cut taxes while they were spending we would not be in deep doo doo.

10. That might induce their base to actually get involved in their government
and you NEVER hear them say anything that might do that

Like:

"Come down and volunteer"
or
"Call your Representative and Senators"

they don't want people involved (some Dems don't either really) they just want them to be so disgusted with "government" that they don't pay attention

11. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!
Just do what he says.

Yep.

Sometimes I think that many of them want exactly the same things we do, but they have been so duped with the hate and fear mongering that they don't understand what we are saying, or that what they are saying is sometimes the same thing.

We want lower taxes! No! WE want lower taxes!

We want to get rid of waste in government spending! NO! NO! NO! WEEEEEEEEEEEE want to get rid of waste in government spending!

The only area where we truly part ways is civil rights issues, but there will always be those who hate gays and brown people and atheists. Sadly. But they are a small, albeit noisy as hell bunch.
