Mitch McConnell tells Senate he can't protect his kids & grandkids from President Obama
Republicans rip Obama for insufficient budget cuts

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Republican congressional leaders tore into President Obama's proposed 2010 budget Thursday, arguing that his spending cuts will do little to stem a rising tide of red ink.

The White House released details earlier in the day outlining $17 billion in cuts from 121 federal programs. The total savings amounts to roughly 0.5 percent of the more than $3.5 trillion in spending approved for next year, or 1.2 percent of next year's projected $1.4 trillion deficit if the president's overall budget is adopted.

"With Democrats in Congress adding to the national debt at the rate of more than $100 billion every month already this year, and with a budget that triples the already unsustainable public debt over the next decade, it is clear that there is not much more that we can do to protect our children and grandchildren from the unprecedented trillions in additional debt proposed by this administration," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, said on the Senate floor.

2. We have to worry about our country now. Otherwise there will be no country for anyone.
The next generations will have to take care of their own problems. They will inherit problems, just as we did.

I'm sick and tired of that red herring about "our children and grandchildren". Please.

5. I look at it this way---
Mitch (aka "Puppet Face") and the boys and their morally bankrupt pResident filled the house with crumpled newspapers, sprinkled it with gasoline and then played with matches. The structure is now "fully engaged" in flames and they are bitchin' about Fire Chief Obama using too much water to try to save their sorry asses.
Lame, dudes---really lame!

6. You've got it. First they'll complain there aren't enough tax cuts,
then they'll complain about what's been cut. They will never wonder out loud why we're here in the first place.

They know, but they're not talking.

7. Well, for years he worried about Hillary sneaking into his backyard and stealing his gas grill. Now
he's worried about 'Bam doing it.

He lives right near the Hart Senate Office Building around the corner from St. Joe's.

8. I don't get it...
Obama and the Democrats in congress are investing in the future of our children. Investing in the PEOPLE of this country. We may leave them with an infrastructure that can make them the envy of the rest of the world. What's your problem, don't you have faith in your children, in this country?

GOP pissed all over themselves to vote for funding for the war and rebuilding Iraq, so long as KBR and Haliburton got the contracts...but say HELL NO, investing in our own country. What the hell is wrong with those people?

After 8 years of fiscal armageddon.

And since when did he suddenly become concerned with the national debt?
