Okay, I knew if I continued to let the filth pile up all around me it would pay off some day (but I'm still waiting for it come out in a smartly-conducted study that butter and chocolate chip ice cream are good for you):

8. Yo granny don't know how right she was!
Everyone eats way more than a pound of dirt in their lifetime! In fact, if my memory serves me, every human being eats over two pounds of bugs, and they don't even know it! You would be amazed at what you ingest in your sleep. I'll leave it at that, cuz I don't want to create any insomniacs.

9. Well, you've sort of gotten what you wanted
The chips in that chocolate chip ice cream contain antioxidants, mood elevators, a substance that protects your teeth and another that protects your heart.

Butter is better for you than trans fats. There are now margarines out there with zero trans fats, but butter used to be better for you than margarine. It's still bad, but at least there's something lower on the scale.

This isn't the only study that's pointed out the health value in slothful housekeeping; a study a couple of years ago found fewer bacteria and dust mites in beds that were left unmade most of the day than beds that had been made soon after the occupants had gotten up.

Housekeeping slobs of the world, stand up and be proud!

11. Thank you for encouraging my vices...
I also never make my bed, but not to keep the mites out. I just figure it's pointless because I'll be crawling back into it soon. Life is too short to get caught up in needless neatness. But I *do* have to keep pictures straight on the wall.

Seriously, there are some docs who say children's nose picking/eating is a good thing for early immune system development.
