Bachmann Has A Challenger in 2010
Dr. Maureen Reed, a Stillwater area physician and the Independence Party's 2006 nominee for lieutenant governor, today announced she would seek the endorsements of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor and Independence parties for the 6th Congressional District seat held by Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann.

We will need somebody else to report from the alternate universe if MB loses. Bachmann should run on the Hoot-Smalley platform.

1. If we could get the Independence party to endorse a DFLer (or vice versa),
we could win almost any election in the entire state in a walk. The Independence party has never accomplished anything but enabling Republicans to win.

3. not so much of a walk, but it does seem that she helped to re-elect Pawlenty
Pawlenty 1,028,568
Hatch 1,007,460
Hutchinson 141,735

DFL only needed 58% of that left-leaning party's votes to win that election.

6. It would be good, then, if she had to fight a costly primary battle, too. (One can dream.)
Even a poor primary challenger might be worth supporting.
