A new interview with The New York Times magazine, Sen. Arlen Specter (D-PA) — who recently became a Democrat — is sure to raise hackles with a comment in which he said that the Senate should seat a Republican who by most accounts has lost his reelection bid.

“With your departure from the Republican Party, there are no more Jewish Republicans in the Senate,” the interviewer asked. “Do you care about that?”

3. I think Coleman should sit down someplace but certainly not in the senate
I think you have to get elected to the senate. :sarcasm:

5. POTUS, Biden and Rendell are either all brilliant with a plan or
really goofed on this one. I'm hoping Specter had a "senior moment" and meant to say Franken. I suppose not though. He should be un-seated and if the three did not have a particular plan, then shame on all three. Specter is a mess.

6. I agree with Joe Sestak: it was hastily done for expediency in Washington.

7. I'm fairly sure that they have a plan...
but I'm not sure it's brilliant, they want his support on a couple of key items-health care, etc... and that all they are really looking for from him.
