Out lesbian to helm federal aging administration

Kathy Greenlee, a former aide to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sibelius, has been nominated by President Obama to become Assistant Secretary, Administration on Aging, at HHS. Greenlee’s appointment requires Senate confirmation, according to the Washington Blade.

Greenlee worked on aging issues in Kansas and also is a past co-chair of Equality Kansas. She earned a law degree at the University of Kansas.

Greenlee is the 35th openly gay or lesbian presidential appointee nominated by Obama.

2. this will be a huge area of concern....

as we boomers become elderly....huge.

Noone can live on SS alone, many have little to no savings, costs soar.
How to care for the massive increase in this population will take creative approaches.
Our elderly are not valued in this society; something which, I hope, will change.
