Burger King Targets Young Children with Vulgar Commercial

What do rapper Sir Mix-a-Lot, his tasteless song "Baby Got Back," and the popular cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants have to do with selling hamburgers and Kids Meals? ... Absolutely nothing!

But Burger King (BK) obviously thinks the rapper/cartoon combo is a great marketing tool, as evidenced in the restaurant's new vulgar and lewd commercial.

The commercial features new sexualized lyrics being sung to the tune of the Grammy Award-winning rap song "Baby Got Back." Provocative young women dance and shake their backsides while wearing square shapes in the seat of their tight shorts. The square shape is representative of SpongeBob SquarePants. The ad ends with Sir Mix-a-Lot saying, "Booty is booty."

BK is using sex and a popular cartoon to target kids and sell food. BK is corrupting our children's minds to make a buck.

This commercial is appalling and unacceptable. This is not the first time BK is in hot water for its marketing choices.
