Natalie Cole is breaking my heart
on Larry King. She's now on dialysis and needs a kidney.
King says he's received several emails from people volunteering to be tested to give her one.
Didn't she have cancer a few years ago?

1. That is so sad. She has a beautiful voice
and that record she made with her father's voice is just great. I wish her well.

2. Yes she had some disease
I don't remember if it was cancer but she was really sick a few years ago.

This is so sad. I just loved her dad when I was a kid. I can still remember seeing him and Stubby Kay in Cat Ballou, which is still one of my favorite movies.

4. We have a great collection of both her dad's and her
music. Hubby and I grew up on Nat King Cole. Our dads loved him.

She's very honest about her period with drugs.

She has a lovely singing voice - that's given but her speaking voice is also very pleasant.

5. Must be even more painful for you
Really sad but I like her attitude.
One of my friends is a doctor and her mum survived dialysis for 14 years until January of this year. She would have died years ago if she wasn't a doctor. Three of the four daughters have kidney problems and my friend received a kidney from her youngest sister about four years ago.

Kidney disease is hell. I used to take her mum for dialysis every now and then and I couldn't deal with that three times a week.

6. She had Hepatitis C from IV drug use
The treatment for the virus has been particulary rough on her entire body. I am sad to learn that she is on dialysis waiting for a kidney transplant. She isn't yet 60 years old.

10. Such a talented soul. I have one of the compilation CDs and never
grow tired of it.

The difficulties she seems to have had are difficulties any human might have, and in no way can they make me forget how wildly gifted she is.

All good vibes to Natalie Cole.

12. Yes indeed, and by the way, hello. And happy May.
I am rooting for this woman to survive the things she's had to face and which she has faced very bravely to date.

And always, there is that marvelous, soaring voice.
