We are too gullible. It's precious actually, that we blindly allow ourselves

to believe in everything our favorite candidates tell us. We are like people who still believe or want to believe in Tinkerbell or Santa Claus. We are good people who will always give someone the benefit of the doubt.

We want a happy ending, a peaceful world, equal rights for all and above all; the truth.

But it is for that very reason we will always be disappointed in our candidates. They may want all those things too but after the election, the reality sets in and they realize that if they want to keep their job, they have to abandon the happy ending.

I want to be angry about the bending over and grabbing of the ankles for the banking sleezebags, the abandonment of repealing "don't ask, don't tell", and the lack of motivation to bring torturers to justice.

I want to be angry - but I'm not. The kind of world I envision will not be possible in my lifetime, but even if we make a small step towards that better place - we are still in the game so it's not all bad.

We need to stop being so gullible and just accept campaign promises for what they are - empty words.

I'm a pragmatic Progressive who believes in measuring success in increments. Bush's slide backwards is the reason we actually have a black man in the White House now. He woke us up. So at least right now there are a few less gullible people

would believe them. I do not think the democratic candidates were liars, they just did not realize that what they wanted to do couldn't be done.
