I was reading famous inaugural quotes. The famous quote that the little diddly paper picked seems especially profound for these times. I believe we should emphasize Eisenhower's words when addressing any Republican Representatives that we may have in our states/ districts. Myself being in FL, I have the particular unfortunate fate to have 1 Republican Senator and my district has a Republican House Member; not to mention all those who Republicans that preside over Florida and have efficiently turned the state to complete crap.
Anyway the quote by Dwight D. Eisenhower:
"A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both."
I think this sums up our predicament quite nicely. Bankers and politicians and their entwined web of money, power, and influence have brought America to its knees. I think we need to figure out if we will rise, or we cease to exist. If we are to rise, we must hold our Representatives accountable. We must protest the banks and their hold over us. And we must elect new Representatives to weed out those who are too entwined and owe their loyalty to select few with money, rather than the people they are supposed to represent. This means at this moment, we must find those persons who have the potential to do the greater good, and we must dedicate as much, if not more, time and money than we did to President Obama. We must do this if we are to dare dream of an America that preserves its dignity and espouses human rights to all of her inhabitants.
