2. I'm already overseas
I'll just make it permenant. :)

I know people who left the country for good after the re- election.

Three republican terms in a row would wreck us.

12. My response exactly
In the words of a great American patriot:

God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. We have had 13. states independent 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century & a half for each state. What country before ever existed a century & half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is it's natural manure.

Just wait... (Sorry about the "thyroid-monster" - I was channeling Hunter Thompson....)

6. I like the tiera idea
This weekend my Congressman stated that we were "Professional Protesters" because we showed up at his town hall meeting with peace and IMPEACH HIM signs. But I don't have a tiera. I'm going to have to work on that one.

7. I'll certainly abandon the Democratic Party
This election is ours to lose and if we can't produce a victory now, it is time to abandon the leaders who lead us to three consecutive losses.

10. I think it is just as big a problem
That we allow Iowa and New Hampshire pick our candidate. They don't seem to have a very good track record. I think we could do better.

11. Agreed, the whole process is really screwed up..
it doesn't have much to do with Democracy anymore. It's who can raise the most money and who can be the darling of the media and/or not make a single fuck up in front of the cameras, i.e., who can hire the best "handlers".

21. It's a real possibility if 'Hil'
is our anointed, er nominated candidate. Divide and conquer was established by the big boys who sponsor these corporate whore candidates.

"Take to the streets in protest until he's gone"

That is really far too mild to describe what I would do.

If there is another Bush in the White House in 2009, I would think it would be time for me and every other patriotic to stage a 2nd American Revolution and take back the government that is rightfully ours.

I would do more than simply "protest" -- I would engage in active revolution!

19. There's no way in hell another Bush will be elected to the presidency.
Not a chance. GW Bush is despised. Why would the GOP saddle themselves with another Bush when there are so many other right-wingers who will espouse the same fascist garbage, and are not saddled with the name of the worst American president in history?

24. It's coming from Mitt Romney mentioning Jeb as a running mate..
Edited on Mon Apr-02-07 01:23 PM by Virginia Dare
and Romney having raised a shit load of money last quarter, largely from some former Bush donors, and having a bunch of former Bushie's on his staff.

Note, I didn't say POTUS, I said White House, so it could be VPOTUS, or some other executive position as well, just a stepping stone, or a tragic accident away.

25. Romney is going to look good to a lot of Republicans

because he's stayed married to his first wife, as has Jeb, for that matter. But fundamentalists voting for a Mormon and a Catholic? Their religions may work against them with the crucial religious right,

26. If Americans are that ignorant to vote for the Republicans, there's not much that can be done.
There are long-term answers to ignorance, but there's precious little that can be done for the immediate future that won't take a long time to accomplish, like protesting until the president is gone.
