Number 2: Respect for the Will of the People:
Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has been caught on tape bragging to a group of Panhandle lawmakers that he has “devious plans” for dealing with the class size reduction initiative, Amendment 9, if voters approve it. In a report released this morning by Gannett News Service, Bush claimed that if voters approve the initiative, he would not abide by their decision and, instead, suggested he would put the initiative back on the ballot accompanied by specific tax hikes or program cuts.

News of their arrest prompted Bush to tantalize GOP lawmakers at a Wednesday meeting with what he called "juicy details" about the women -- who he implied were not sisters at all, but rather a lesbian couple.
"As
was being arrested," Bush told the Panhandle lawmakers, "she told her co-workers, 'Tell my wife I've been arrested.' The wife is the grandmother, and the aunt is the husband." Bush added gestures, using his fingers to make quotation marks as he emphasized the word "grandmother."
"Bet you don't get that in Pensacola," Bush added for flourish, apparently not realizing that a reporter with Gannett Regional Newspapers of Florida was in the room. His comments were first reported in Wednesday's editions of the Pensacola News-Journal, and soon made the rounds of media across the state.

Jeb Bush jokes people of San Francisco may be endangered
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Gov. Jeb Bush joked during a Florida Cabinet meeting Wednesday that the people of San Francisco may be endangered and, "That's probably good news for the country." The subject was environmental land and Bush was looking at a map showing locations with a lot of different wildlife.

At the same time their planes were flying back and forth from Venezuela with illegal cargo Hilliard's charter service was also, unbelievably, being utilized at virtually no cost––despite the fact that rentals for Lear jets can run as high as $1,800 an hour––by Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

The thing that I can't stand more than anything else is a hypocrite. People that say one thing and than for whatever reason do or say something completely opposite to what they previously have said or done. The latest hypocrite is Florida Governor Jeb Bush. For those not aware the voters of Broward and Miami-Dade counties will be voting to allow slot machines at pari-mutuels, commonly known as horse tracks, dog tracks and jai-alai frontons. If passed the taxes raised from the slots will go to help fund education across the state. Governor Bush has come out against slots. He has even said, "(It's) a false hope if you believe it will help schools. It's a false hope if you believe it will help economic development." Bush is the biggest hypocrite in the Sunshine State. Governor Bush happens to oversee the largest gambling operation in the State of Florida.

Number 7: The Company He Keeps (3):
Did Jeb Bush ask Jack Thompson to Draft Video Game Legislation?
Jack Thompson says yes. GamePolitics has received no confirmation so far from the office of the Florida Governor. Here's a press release that Thompson issued yesterday:
"Miami attorney Jack Thompson, a leading activist against the video game industry, has today been asked by the Office of the Governor of the State of Florida, Jeb Bush, to draft and submit to him and to Florida legislators a bill that will prohibit the sale of violent and sexually explicit video games to minors."
"The Office of Governor Bush has told Thompson that the Governor will sign such a bill if it is placed before him."
"Thompson will submit the proposed bill to the Governor and to appropriate Members of the Florida legislature in the next several days in response to the Governor's request. Florida's legislative committees are already active in anticipation of the commencement of the March 2006 legislative session."
"This news from Governor Bush comes as California Governor Schwarzenegger has in front of him a video game bill. The Governors of both Illinois and Michigan have signed similar video game bills into law recently."
"The fact that the Governor of the nation's fourth largest state wants such a law is very bad news for reckless video game companies like Take-Two/Rockstar, which have assaulted teens for years with their hyper-violent Grand Theft Auto video games."
"Jack Thompson is privileged to respond in the affirmative to Governor Bush's request."
Thompson's assertion raises a few questions, especially since Florida is actively working to encourage video game development in the state. In fact, Gov. Bush is depicted here as a Madden 06 character in a special animation developed by EA's Tiburon Studios for the game's August launch. GamePolitics reported on the red carpet event, as well as on Florida's commitment of tax dollars for a game development degree program at the University of Central Florida.

Number 8: Respect for the Truth (1):
Jeb Bush, speaking to retired Naval Intelligence Officer Al Martin:
“The truth is useless. You have to understand this right now. You can't deposit the truth in a bank. You can't buy groceries with the truth. You can't pay rent with the truth. The truth is a useless commodity that will hang around your neck like an albatross -- all the way to the homeless shelter. And if you think that the million or so people in this country that are really interested in the truth about their government can support people who would tell them the truth, you got another think coming. Because the million or so people in this country that are truly interested in the truth don't have any money.” - (cited by Uri Dowbenko in Bushwhacked, Sept. 2002).

Jeb Bush Punishes Reporter
August 2nd 2004
The reporter who broke the recent story about a “Christian nation” flag on display in the Florida General Counsel’s office has come under pressure from the office of Gov. Jeb Bush. The governor himself has called S.V. Dte’s questions to staffers “unprofessional conduct,” according to the Palm Beach Post where Dte is the Tallahassee bureau chief.
The Governor’s office has also dis-invited the paper to the traditional end-of-the-year interview. The president of the Florida Capital Press Corps wrote the governor to protest, saying that the snub gave the appearance “that Gov. Bush will retaliate against any news organization that questions his administration.”
