If I wanted to kill a union, here's a plan I'd consider ........
I'd talk the union into swapping billions in a retiree health care trust fund for common stock in the company that owed the union the billions. I would do this only upon getting guarantees from the government that the company would promptly be put into bankruptcy so as to depress even further the little value left in the essentially worthless stock the union just paid billions for. But none of this could happen, of course, until a drak suitor with a reputation of union busting agreed to bail out the company, but not until the company sheds all its debt - including defaulting on the billions it owed the union's retiree health care trust fund.

That's a cool plan. THAT is a plan that can be soled to the public on the basis of being tough on the autoworke ...... er ..... automakers.

1. That's a clever plan.
My Union did it by electing drunks and idiots.
