Want organic, safe dog/cat food?
I fed this for many years. I now feed raw. If I couldn't get meat, I would feed this food. They've started a line of canned for dogs now. They're not involved in any way with Menu Foods. They won't give out the name of the company that makes the food because it's proprietary. I would definitely trust them to pull their food if they thought it might be contaminated. They only carry dry cat food, not wet.

You'll get an education in pet food if you read the information on the site. Mark Heyward owns Timberwolf, and he's always available via email for your questions. Unusual, to say the least. He's very versed in animal nutrition.

I don't recommend dry food for pets, but the situation is desperate with recalls.

If you have any questions about this food or company, post them, I dealt with them for years. I believe you can still order directly off the website or you can call one of their distributors to save on shipping costs.

I still buy their salmon oil, it's the best I've found for Omega 3's.

1. Thanks for that
Brands I bought today are Natural Balance and Solid Gold. No gluten in these. I've even given up on Wellness because they say some of their food is made by Menufoods; even though none of it's been recalled it's just not worth the risk to me.

10. Solid Gold is great
A couple of years ago, when researching for my doggies good health, I called Solid Gold and
for whatever reason, I landed up talking to the owner of the Company. The woman is passionate
about her products and has two great danes who are the love of her life. I can't believe someone
who loves animals as she does would not do her best to see that her product line is absolutely
as good as can be. She does seem to take a deep personal interest in animals well being. By the way, there are no preservatives or fillers at all in Solid Gold.

11. Thanks, that's good to know!
I've started feeding the Holistique Blend with a little Solid Gold or Natural Balance wet to my girl in place of Hill's Prescription i/d. Today I go to have a talk with the vet about this. Unless he comes up with something beneficial the i/d supplies that the new food doesn't, I'm putting my foot down.

2. Most vets they have interviewed on TV regarding the recall
DO recommend dry cat and dog food. They say it is best, with plenty of fresh water. Changed daily.

6. I found some grain-free cat foods
This weekend I went shopping for cat food and found that both Innova and Wellness have new grain-free dry formulations. Right now my cats are eating the Innova and seem to like it. I'm hoping that the absence of grain will be better for my cat with chronic urinary tract infections than the Hill's prescription diet he's been on.

12. I changed to Wellness on Friday
Two loved it immediately, and the third finally ate some late Friday, and now appears to love it.

Non wheat, soy, or corn!

7. Cat Food
A few years ago when my sister was looking for a good cat food she came upon frozen raw ground rabbit (including bones). Seems this is as close to feeding a cat mice. Mice are the natural food for cats when they can do so they will choose to kill a live mouse and eat it bones and all.

Why do humans try to make cats into vegetarians?
