C-SPIN WJ: Gnew Gingrich...Stand-Up Comedy
Let see how many ways he can legitimize torture and pretend he doesn't want to be President while dying to be asked.

3. Tom Colburn For President???
and Gnewt thinks he'd be a "serious" candidate?

Here's a moron most the other Senators try to ignore...put all the bills he tried to hold up and ramrodded them through, using Colburn's name on the omnibus. Yeah, he'll be a real "serious" candidate.

Amazing...their answer for the problem of their party moving further off the right wing abyss is "more conservatism"...and hoping upon hopes Obama screws up.

6. He Just Had The Gaul To Quote Orwell's 1984
IN the Context of defending the opposition to the new hate crimes bill..."Free Speech would be affected...Open Discussion wouldn't happen"...

This is absolutely Crazy...

And Such SPIN!!!!!!

I want to SCREAM!

We can't "yell fire in a crowded theater" or "threaten the President"...

8. I Like His "New Faces"
He cited names like Pence, Boner and Issa in the House and McConnell and Alexander in the Senate. Those are new faces?

There's a bit of a fall-out over the Specter defection. You're starting to see some "moderates" making noise or at least the start of a split between the far right and the looney far right.

9. If General "Peaches" Petraeus wants to be POTUS, we need a more throughough investigation
of Col. Ted Westhusing "apparent" suicide.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/greg-mitchell/gen-petraeus-and-a-high_b_94458.html

Twelve days after Westhusing's body was found, Army investigators talked with his widow, who told them: "I think Ted gave his life to let everyone know what was going on. They need to get to the bottom of it, and hope all these bad things get cleaned up."

Bryce concluded: "In September 2005, the Army's inspector general concluded an investigation into allegations raised in the anonymous letter to Westhusing shortly before his death. It found no basis for any of the issues raised. Although the report is redacted in places, it is clear that the investigation was aimed at determining whether Fil or Petraeus had ignored the corruption and human rights abuses allegedly occurring within the training program for Iraqi security personnel." Since then, the corruption and failed training angles have drawn wide attention although the Petraeus's role, good or bad, has not.

The writer returned to the case this past February with another Texas Observer article. I've run out of space here so I will merely quote its opening and link to it: Since last March, when I wrote a story about the apparent suicide of Col. Ted Westhusing in Iraq, I had believed there was nothing else to write about his tragic death.

But in December, I talked to a source in the Department of Defense who met Westhusing in Iraq about three months before his death. The source, who asked not to be identified for fear of reprisals, was investigating claims of wrongdoing against military contractors working in Iraq. After a short introduction, I asked him what he thought had happened to Westhusing. 'I think he was killed. I honestly do. I think he was murdered,' the source told me. 'Maybe DOD didn't have enough evidence to call it murder, so they called it suicide.'"

10. The GOOPers Won't Care...But They Won't Nominate Him In 2012
Not sure about 2016 or beyond. This party is too fractured...Petreus is like Colin Powell...a "hero", but also one that isn't a "true believer". And a lot depends on how things turn in both Iraq and Afghanistan. For a "true believer", he should have resigned with the booooshies, but now he's serving President Obama...thus he must be an "opportunist".

Surely there will be a faction that will want him or someone other than a Palin or Gingrich or some other nutcase being the "leader" of the party, but they're being outshouted by hate radio and Faux Noise.

Also, with more revelations about war crimes in Iraq come to light...and they will...Petreus will have questions to answer. If not that, then when the "truce" he bought between the various factions finally break down and things get uglier in Iraq.
