Not to be a party pooper...but why can't the April Fools jokes be limited to the lounge?

More than once I have clicked on something with anticipation only to have it whisked away. I'm all for fun...but this is a little much.

2. What fun would that be?
That would be like Halloween with scaring all the kids! Clever pranks are great- they keep us on our toes.

3. Not when you have limited time to come in and peruse
and half of what you click is a joke. I've been in several times today briefly and left empty-handed.

4. key word being "clever".
I'd say 90% of the jokes are far from it.

5. Amen. Just like New Years Eve is "amateur night" for drinkers ...
... April Fools Day is "amateur day" for folks aspiring to have a sense of humor. :dunce:

6. Then they should be easy to spot before clicking on them, yes?

12. A simple frequency distribution
shows us that most pranks will be less than clever- though there have been a couple of good ones. To extend the analogy, most Halloween costumes and displays are lame- but every once in a while you get a really good one that even gives the adults a fright!

7. In England, April Fools jokes should only be played until 12 noon.
The you could tell the person "now the time is past twelve o'clock, so you're the fool and I am not. However it has been many years since I left and maybe that rule no longer applies.
