Elizabeth Edwards' Newsweek interview and a question
I just read a very touching interview of Elizabeth Edwards in Newsweek - here is the link:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17889146/site/newsweek/

And a question, since I have been out of the loop for a while - I thought they had just found cancer in her rib, but she sounds so pessimistic about her chances. Did I miss something? Have they found it elsewhere?

My heart breaks for this woman and her husband and family. I hope they stay close and strong.

14. Very sadly, the news goes from bad to worse. She had a premonition?
I think she knows what is before her.
And I suspect she has known for some time.

She is a very bright, educated, sensitive and responsible woman.
But she avoided mammograms for a long time and the breast lump was
very big before she went in to get it checked out. Perhaps she
was avoiding what she felt was somehow inevitable?

I am fairly intuitive and that is what I am getting about all of this.

8. Any recurrence, even if it's just local at the site where it had been, is not good at all.
There will always be the case of someone where this happened, or had other metastasis, and lived a long time.

But if you know a lot of people where this happened, most often they died within a few to several years, sometimes shorter.

9. Damn, I hadn't heard about the lung
and here I was feeling a good about her chances because a friend of mine reminded me that the sister of one of her other friends has been living with breast cancer in her breast bone and hip for almost 20 years.
