Request: Info on how the AVERAGE person lives, globally??
I'm hoping some of you can steer me toward information on how the AVERAGE or median person in the world lives, or, what percentage of people live in various conditions.

In terms of living standards, work, food, housing, etc., I'm hoping to find info that would shed light on how fortunate most (average) Americans are?

1. Average?
Some things do not lend themselves to averages. There are people living lives in west Africa, central Asia, and central South America that you and I can not even comprehend, let alone place values on by which we might average them.

3. some
According to UNICEF, 30,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they “die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death.”

That is about 210,000 children each week, or just under 11 million children under five years of age, each year

if I have the time today.
The poster JCrowley typically has some good facts on this kind of stuff...

It would make more sense to compare average people from different countries though, i.e. the average North American vs. the average South American/Eastern European and so on...
