Michelle Malkin - what's her deal?
is she like the asian ann coulter or something?

i don't know much about her and i just read her bio on wiki. i did NOT know she was filipino and frankly, i'm embarrassed that we share the same heritage. :puke:

apparently, she wrote a book defending WWII internment camps for japanese-americans and parlaying that to justify racial profiling of arabs after 9/11 .

what other things has she done or said? is she considered radically right-wing a la Fox News, slightly less crazy but still conservative, or just bat-shit crazy?

i'm curious to learn more (i don't know why, but i am lol) and i'd go to her website, but i don't want to give her site an extra visitor count :P.

3. After her internment book, a good many conservatives distanced themselves from her
But she does have a following, no doubt.

4. She's seen as bat-shit crazy.
She's really nuts. She did defend internment camps. She claimed on Tweety's show, Hardball, that John Kerry was never injured in Vietnam and he faked it. That caused her to get her arse reamed.

She at times sits in for Bill O'Rielly on his show. She's said and done many outlandish things in the past. The only time I agreed with her was when Rosie O'Donnell made this, "ching-chong" joke about how Chinese people sound...a straight out racist remark and she being of East Asian descent basically mocked RO. I didn't blame her for that.

6. it's too bad that she didn't personally experience the internment camps ...
I'm sure that when they were thrown in there, the people who put them in there weren't too discriminating as to whether or not you were of Japanese or Filipino descent ... and how she would have "liked" having her life's savings, work, and dignity just co-opted by someone else, and the "not talked about at that time" rapes and sexual abuse that probably occurred ...

and then see if she defended it ...

of course, whenever it's a "discussion" about FDR on Faux, then suddenly, it's considered the horrendous crime ... they have selective outrage ...

17. Then she's an American.
When people want to make their heritage clear they would say Filipino American or of Filipino heritage or the like. Otherwise they call themselves Americans.

Don't try to blame that witch on the Philippines by calling her a Filipino. She's a unique creation of America.

I can find loads of links on the net that prove she is American. Can you find one that proves she's not?

20. I and the OP was talking about 'ethnicity'
I don't know where my friend was born but since he served in the Army he probaly was born in the US. And he called himself a filipino. For examle of what I'm talking about, you can be full-blooded Mexican descent but be born here in the US. For another example of what I'm talking about, I'm white.

23. Her immigration views (especially) make her an honorary Aryan...
so she makes white supremacist guys feel comfortable indulging a guilty pleasure. Her appeal on the right is overwhelmingly to guys; like Coulter's largely psychosexual (though age has brushed Mad Ann with its withering hand and her stock is bound to fall). Unhealthy sexuality and hardline conservatism go gland in hand.

11. she's married to sadistic svengali Jesse Malkin
Edited on Tue Apr-28-09 11:52 AM by grassfed
Michelle is married to one Jesse Malkin – who some claim plays the puppeteer to her marionette and is a "stay-at-home dad" – likely to her chagrin. This may explain her plea for a "man" that can say "No."

Jesse Malkin is also known as a right-wing fanatic and has been such since his college days – also at Oberlin. One has to chuckle at Michelle's bio in Wikipedia – where it claims that she is married to Jesse Malkin, an "economist" at the Rand Corporation. Malkin, it appears, is not an economist at the Rand Corporation – but was once an associate where he specialized in delving into (hamstringing) health care for veterans and the aged. What he's doing at home with his children is your guess – but heck, it's better than sitting around in Santa Monica waiting in vain for the fog to clear.

There are others who posit that Jesse Malkin writes most if not all of Michelle's copy and that she only handles "on-air" appearances. No one will ever know for certain until the divorce papers are leaked to the public, but one thing is for sure: Malkin believes she is the Paris Hilton of Neocons, and loves the tube exposure.

Anyone who sees some secret pro-Palestinian propaganda in a Dunkin Donuts ad is a few pawns short of a chess game.

27. Mentally ill and dangerous
she should be locked up in a padded cell with handcuff and legirons and a nice big gag in her mouth. That and not fed for 30 days, then she can maybe change her claim about being for internment of anyone.

She used to write for a major paper up here in the Northwest. I'm sorry she Sorry she went national-- she gets far too much attention, for very little talent-- but it's easier for me to ignore her.
