CNN: The person who shook Obama's hand in Mexico died from swine flu the next day
I found a link here:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1173672/Obamas-swine-flu-scare-shaking-hands-archaeologist-died-24-hours-later.html

The poor man had given Obama a tour of the Antropology museum. :(

I guess that explains why the media keeps asking whether Obama has had any flu like symptoms.

3. From the article
Mr Solis had taken Mr Obama on a tour of the museum on April 16, a week before his death.

Mexican health boss Jose Cordova, however, said Mr Solis was already ill and his death was unrelated to swine flu.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs insisted: ‘The president’s trip to Mexico has not put his health in any danger.’

4. Are they sure now that he died of the flu?
Last I read, it was only a speculation. But, yeah, that's why the press has been asking. If Obama is still okay, we can relax by now. :)

11. well, isn't pneumonia
one of the results of the flu, the reason you die from it? you just don't die "from the flu". i haven't seen a clear answer to this...

8. The President REALLY needs to give his staff a good shaking up
Getting the wrong region DVD's for the British PM was a goofy gaffe, but this is absolutely egregious. The POTUS should not be put in mortal peril.

13. CNN needs to stop
Olguin did NOT die from the swine flu.

http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/265940,extra-influenza-death-toll-rises-to-81-in-mexico.html

The health minister dismissed speculation in the Mexican media about US President Barack Obama's possible exposure to the virus when he was in Mexico City ten days ago, just after the flu started breaking out there.

Reforma newspaper had reported that Obama had had contact at a museum with a reknown archeologist, Felipe Solis Olguin, who died of a combination of diabetes and pneumonia shortly afterwards.

Cordova Villalobos clarified the man's cause of death, saying the pneumonia was not related to influenza, but rather to a combination of an unnamed pre-existing condition and a sudden onset of pneumonia that was not related to influenza.

In Washington, the White House reassured CNN that the president was not suffering from any flu symptoms.

18. Spreading disinformation?
Facts are the guy died from pneumoniae about a week before the outbreak became news.

That is why the press is asking what the heck were Obama's medical team doing and how come the Mexican government did not communicate this to the Obama administration before his trip.

I bet you they even have not tested to see whether the archeologist died from swine flu or not.

25. you could try reading the article you linked:
"Mr Solis had taken Mr Obama on a tour of the museum on April 16, a week before his death.

Mexican health boss Jose Cordova, however, said Mr Solis was already ill and his death was unrelated to swine flu."

the article's title & content don't match = disinformation.

21. Contagious a day before symptoms and 7 or more days after becoming sick.
Edited on Mon Apr-27-09 03:44 PM by Fla Dem
How can someone with the flu infect someone else?
Infected people may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 7 or more days after becoming sick. That means that you may be able to pass on the flu to someone else before you know you are sick, as well as while you are sick.
