mexico considers shutdown
Edited on Mon Apr-27-09 01:50 PM by nadinbrzezinski
If the death toll keeps rising, the Mexico City shutdown plan under consideration would include all public transport.

I know, I know some folks will laugh this up, but still, this is the official shit meet fan moment

1. Just found this on a blog:
Swine flu-An Al Quaida Plot
Submitted by KCLaw on April 27, 2009 - 12:29pm.

Al Quaida operatives have instituted a bio-terror campaign with militarized and weaponized swine flu, purchased from former scientists from Saddam's Weapons of Mass Destruction Program, now living and working in Venezuela.

This weaponized flu strain was smuggled by Central American communist Rebels into Mexico, where it was traded to the Drug Cartels for American made automatic weapons and Homeland Security laptop computers acidentally left at the Denny's Restaurant in El Paso, Texas.

The flu was either carried north by drug mules, illegal hotel room cleaning maids, or in the trailers of Mexican over the road semi-trucks which entered the USA without inspection because they were taking the NAFTA Highways.

President Obama knows about the plan, and is okay with it because if we all get sick enough, he can declare martial law and take away our personal firearms.

The drug cartel's possible motive is to get as many people sick with the flu as possible. The resulting epidemic will result in a massive run of consumption of ephedrine containing cold products, thus depleting the supply and forcing American meth manufacturers out of business.

14. He's actually a pretty bright guy
I have been *talking* to him on this blog for a few months now. Claims to be a recovered republican who voted for Obama. And he generally puts the far right whackos in their place pretty well.

This was one of the best pieces he has posted. I about bust a gut first time I read it.

5. Oh, that Obama!
He worked with Al Qaeda to trigger a pandemic just to take away guns from NRA yobos.

Makes a lot of sense. Right.

8. Wow. They've hit all the RW crazy bases, except maybe prayer in schools.
Evolution, and abortion? Hmmmm. Perhaps the swine flu is hidden away in Plan "B" contraception?

6. I wonder if the earthquake will cause it to spread more,
all the people likely ran out of the buildings and met on the street.

Come to think of it.... the same thing happened in Manhattan today when an AF1 look alike scared everyone into the streets.:tinfoilhat:

16. You're not seeing an increase in deaths
you're seeing an increase in deaths confirmed to have been caused by this new flu.

Remember, these numbers are coming out of the labs, not the morgues.

The total is likely to rise, but please remember these are the severest cases that are being tracked. Very likely there are a dozen mild cases being treated at home with chicken soup for every severe case being tracked.

7. Can variable rate incubation affect virus virulence?
Im trying to figure out why it is mild outside of Mexico. Could it simply be because the long-term incubators in the US, who will have much worse symptoms, are not yet diagnosed (or even showing signs)?

Ive read information in Mexico suggesting this has gone on for 3 weeks at least. Why the panic now and not before? Well, perhaps it simply wasn't a problem with those who hade a 2 to 5 day incubation period. Perhaps its the late bloomers who are having the massive auto-immune response?

I don't know. Im researching this now and seeing a couple quick examples of this activity in nature. I just can't make sense of why Mexico is in the state it is in. If this is the case, and people are scoffing, we may see a sad future in a couple of weeks.

I am not in the medical field, period, so don't flame me here. Im just trying to reconcile the differences from Mexico and elsewhere.

10. Yes, from what WHO people told us back in the day
And no don't expect a technical answer... as I am just repeating what they said to us in brief ten years ago

Suffice it to day this sucker is mutating... and in 1918 early on it wasn't that deadly either

The WHO is about to raise the pandemic probability level from three to four according to MSNBC

11. Its an extremely scary thought. And thats why I can't scoff at 20 or 40 cases.
Because all that does is tell me its out there.

15. Having a "scary thought" is different than being scared.
:)

I would say I more interested now, but I can see hypotheticals that can be "scary". I have no opinion either way, but if were are just seeing the start of this, it could be quite bad.

It wouldn't surprise me. My generation always gets shit on. All old people do is vote for Republicans, contribute to financial disasters, and incubate viruses that only affect us (enter generation war talk). LOL. :)

I know you older people are giddy. You are just going to harvest our organs to extend your lives, if there is anything left of them.

Next time Im moving to an island--a smaller one. Ill shoot any person, bird, pig or horse that comes within 10 feet of me. Especially hybrid pig-humans things.

I don't do reality well.
