CNN's Michael Ware Heckled McCain - Drudge - here comes Sliming of Ware
Edited on Sun Apr-01-07 01:21 PM by RamboLiberal
http://www.drudgereport.com/flash.htm

During a live press conference in Bagdad, Senators McCain and Graham were heckled by CNN reporter Michael Ware. An official at the press conference called Ware’s conduct “outrageous,” saying, “here you have two United States Senators in Bagdad giving first-hand reports while Ware is laughing and mocking their comments. I’ve never witnessed such disrespect. This guy is an activist not a reporter.”

Senators McCain and Graham flew into Iraq and drove into Bagdad, making stops at an open market and a joint Iraq/American military security outpost before appearing at the press conference.

This is not the first time Michael Ware has taken issue with Senator McCain’s comments about early progress in Iraq. Last week, after Senator McCain told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that he needed to catch up on the news coming out of Iraq, Michael Ware responded, saying:

“I don't know what part of Neverland Senator McCain is talking about when he says we can go strolling in Baghdad.”

Michael Ware has also publicly expressed his views on the war last year in an interview with Bill Maher, saying, “I've been given a front-row ticket to watch this slow-motion train wreck … I try to stay as drunk for as long as possible while I'm here … In fact, I'm drinking now.”

Might be a good idea to drop CNN an email praising Ware's coverage!

7. Just who the hell is that "official at the press conference"
???? That wouldn't be a McCain employee, would it?:eyes: It couldn't possibly be a Graham employee either.:eyes: And it SURELY wasn't a WH operative talking to DRUDGE!:eyes:

I don't care if Ware was mocking them. They DESERVE to be mocked for lying about Iraq. Ware has been there for 4 years...all over the country. He knows damn well what's going on there. McCain and Graham are traveling under the safety of military protection! BIG FUCKING DIFFERENCE. I DARE them to wander out of the Green Zone WITHOUT protection. I DARE them.

14. That's what's REALLY worrying me! Michael travels about with Iraqi translators and
no protection whatsoever. He lives OUTSIDE the Green Zone too. Blackwater could send out a sniper and knock him off at any time...blaming it on 'insurgents', of course. :scared: I hope he knows he's in danger from speaking out against the U.S. invasion.:(

8. I think Ware is too busy staying alive to care.
Only pampered righ wing nutjobs could possibly think this would bother Ware considering where he is.

12. I caught Kyra Phillips on CNN this am...
I was SURPRISED that she was ACTUALLY speaking truth about the situation there. She said that there is NO WAY anyone can go out without being HEAVILY GUARDED. Period. She's a known Repub shill so when she says things like this...I notice.

F*ck McCain and Graham. It's an awfully long way to go for a PHOTO-OP!

15. Spot on about Kyra.
She has been pretty quiet since the hot-mike-in-the-bathroom thing, but I have seen her be very biased for the GOP in the past. Because of the polls on Iraq, she may feel emboldened to acknowledge reality.

24. i saw that too and my ears perked up and my eyes were popping to see who was saying
what she did ..she said one must be heavily guarded to go out of the green zone..and she went even further i just wish i could remember all of what she said..but she was very critical..and i thought..glad that little gop shill is there..she needs a good dose of reality!!

I just wonder how many rugs she will come home with...and i would love to suggest that little sill would take a short walk out of the safety of the green zone...and see how long she would last in neverland!!

17. They're not used to being mocked.
They ususally do the mocking. It may not be professional, but goddamnit, it's about time. They needed to be mocked. If they had done when Pain in My Colin Powell got up in front of the UN with his little vial, maybe we wouldn't be where we are today. If they had said 'This dumbass got his info from a term paper and those labs can't manufacture chemical weapons', maybe 3000+ Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis would still be here.

18. Even if this is right, I wonder what's making Ware snap? What strain is he under?
Could it be, say, watching hundreds getting slaughtered for no reason, up close, week after week? God, what a pussy he must be, cowering there on, you know, the streets of Baghdad and al-Anbar.

22. They need to be heckled...
they are a joke, Ware is on the ground daily and he knows that this is bull. This is the same garbage they were spouting before the election and they want to keep on going with these lies...This should happen more often, the reporters in this country should be putting them on the spot with the hard questions which we never hear...

23. I'd have to see a video before I'd even begin to believe this story. Michael Ware has been outspoken
but he's been right on. I've always looked forward to his factual accounting of what's going on whenever I can hear it and I've yet heard him be unprofessional.

25. I worry about the guy
unfortunately when you are in the area of lawlessness that is Iraq, you have to exercise diplomacy when referring to dilusional presidential hopefuls or a corrupt administration - or else it isn't too hard for the Iraqi government to take care of an outspoken cynic in their midst, while the Bush Crime Family plays dumb and offers condolences afterwards.
