Will Congress do anything to stop the planned
Edited on Sun Apr-01-07 12:42 PM by solara
bombing attack on Iran referred to as "Operation Bite"? CAN Congress do anything to stop it? Is it a bogus rumor or a real plan?

I heard it was planned for April 6 (Good Friday) at 4am - Didn't Joe Biden say that if Bush attacked Iran there would be a real Constitutional Crisis? Anyone know what's up with this?

Just askin'

1. If He Attacks at 4AM Friday, THAT GIVES US ALL DAY TO IMPEACH HIM!

If Bush**Cheney do this, they must be impeached and removed from office IMMEDIATELY.
Like the SAME DAY!

9. They have proven they will go to any lengths. . .
. . .to advance the agenda of their tiny, fascist faction so many times it's utterly mystifying to hear other members of the "reality-based community" claim they "wouldn't go that far" (whatever "that" may be).

4. Whether "operation bite" is reality or rumor, time is NOT on our side.

The reality -- that anything can happen tomorrow is what makes impeachment so urgent. It is what makes the rationalizations "we must investigate first" or "be patient, the wheels are turning" so dangerous. Not only do they minimize the reality of our national crisis (if urgent action isn't required, it can't be that bad), investigations undermine the powerful cases we have by saying "we don't have a case; we're still fishing."

The price of delay could be unimaginable. Bushcheney could declare war on Iran or Syria or North Korea or Venezuela or even Haiti; we could see another major terrorist attack; or some completely unforeseen event could make it impossible to rescue our national soul for a long time to come.

Even when we move full steam ahead, we can be thwarted by events.

On September 10, 2001, there were many signs that sanity was returning. The number who believed Florida was stolen had passed 50%. Bush's approval was continuing the steady downward slide that started the day he was inaugurated. A coalition led by Democrats.com that included the National Lawyers Guild and Vincent Bugliosi had scheduled a Sept. 11 press conference http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=2701395&mesg_id=2707042">to announce their "fall offensive" -- a campaign that that included the effort to see Scalia et al. impeached for Bush v. Gore.

Bush's claims to any semblance of legitimacy were crumbling fast.

Then the sun came up on 9/11/2001. In the weeks that followed, the countless people who were horrified by the stolen election and Bush's incredible abuses were silenced in a nation that had seemingly gone mad.

Sanity is once again returning, but we must recognize how fragile the moment is..

6. Not gonna happen.
There's a danger in believing every rumor that comes down the pike.

8. Can;t know. Doesn't really matter. Immediate impeachment. . .
. . .is still an absolute necessity. Some completely unforeseen event could make it impossible to rescue our national soul for a long time to come.

10. I think you may be right, but Congress doesn't see it that way, unfortunately
I just don't get it either. There any number of impeachable offenses on his plate. I wonder if another person in his position, with the same crimes on his head, would get the pass he has been given.

I hope you are wrong though... I really do

12. I doubt very seriously that anyone would have the exact date and time of an invasion...
...unless it was openly public knowledge, in which case the media would already be all over it. Don't hold your breath.
