They did it so that they could get information, whether it was false or not, so that they could use it to sell a war with Iraq.

Period. That's what it was for. This was no Jack Bauer we had to torture to save ourselves situation. They did it because they wanted to start a war.

This is a separate violation of the Convention Against Torture, the inclusion of statements obtained through torture as evidence in an official proceeding.


Folks were tortured in order to fabricate a false narrative about the twin towers.


None of the 9/11 commissioners, who were selected for their unimpeachable character, each and every one of them is supposed to be beyond reproach, has come forward to denounce their report, a report that is a separate crime all its own.

Why aren't any of these eminent, uncorruptable, and morally sound individuals coming forward to denounce their own criminal report? Anyone? They must know about the torture and waterboarding by now, don't they?

it certainly wouldn't have been the first time they were using gov't money to get people pushing their agendas - Maggie Gallager, Armstrong, et al.

After 4-5 years of watching Bauer "save" the world by using these tactics - I wonder how many people are softened up to it where they would have been horrified a few years ago.

9. 24 did come around before 9/11

I think the first episode did air a little bit afterward but the concept was put together and most most of the first season was written and produced before the event happened. That's not to say that since then they haven't used some elements to do just that though. I watch the show, it's entertaining, but it's so far-fetched that most people can logically understand that it's fictional. Of course, some people don't live by or understand logic.
