It Takes One To Know One: Bachmann Denounces Attacks on Right Wing Extremists
The recent Department of Homeland Security report, which attracted so much criticism on the right for its warnings about domestic right-wing extremists, has another big-time detractor: Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN).

Bachmann took to the House floor on Wednesday night, delivering an impassioned speech about the government tagging decent Americans as extremists for being pro-life, pro-gun rights and anti-illegal immigration -- and asking whether Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has gone "absolutely stark raving mad".

There's no doubt that Bachmann has a genuine stake in this argument. For one thing, she is staunchly pro-life. She is also in favor of gun rights, and wants to secure the borders. Oh, and she's called for revolution against President Obama's tyranny and Marxism.

1. Wow. A score of board-certified shrinks would be stumped on the
Bachmann file.

I suggest someone drive her to a regional medical center someplace, put her in a locked psychiatric unit forever on a slow Haldol drip, and appoint a liberal Democrat to represent that district instead.

There we go. Problem solved.

7. Dali could paint the most bizarre things but when he wished, especially
in the earlier work, he could paint anything he wanted in any era's genre.

A bit odd for Main Street America but my god what a talent.

11. Seems like a fairly straightforward coding: 297.1 Delusional disorder, mixed
Edited on Sat Apr-25-09 11:06 PM by depakid
Delusional disorder is a type of serious mental illness in which a person cannot tell what is real from what is imagined. The main feature of this disorder is the presence of delusions, which are unshakable beliefs in something that is untrue.

People with delusional disorder experience non-bizarre delusions, which involve situations that could occur in real life, such as being followed, poisoned, deceived, conspired against, or loved from a distance. These delusions usually involve the misinterpretation of perceptions or experiences. In reality, however, the situations are either not true at all or highly exaggerated.

People with delusional disorder often can continue to socialize and function quite normally, apart from the subject of their delusion, and generally do not behave in an obviously odd or bizarre manner. This is unlike people with other psychotic disorders, who also might have delusions as a symptom of their disorder. In some cases, however, people with delusional disorder might become so preoccupied with their delusions that their lives are disrupted.

Although delusions might be a symptom of more common disorders, such as schizophrenia, delusional disorder itself is rather rare. Delusional disorder most often occurs in middle to late life and is slightly more common in women than in men.

4. In Other Words, Sir, She Has Engaged In Sedition
And is a proper object for the attentions of a competent security service....

Does anyone imagine that if, for example, Sen. Sanders had called for revolution a year ago, he would not have been the object of intense F.B.I. scrutiny?

10. She knows exactly what she's doing
Bachmann is bat shit crazy but she's not that dumb and she's playing to the more extremist areas of her district. Though she came very close to overplaying that hand last fall. She was only reelected because it was a three way race.

13. I've said it once and I'll say it again
We need to work harder to defeat her in 2010. With the grassroots effort of 2008, it should be doable. My understanding is she barely squeaked out a win last year. The more she opens her mouth with her extremist agenda the better.
