5. When Bobby Kennedy was running for the Senate
I remember (I'm now dating myself) him saying that he wasn't in it for the title because he could be called "general" for the rest of his life.

13. No. I just heard him say that and
I was making breakfast, not sitting in front of the tv. So, even with my attention not focused, it stood out for me. I said to myself, "What's he talking about?" It was quite dissonant, IMO.

That being said, I think Hatch is nervous and is tap-dancing as fast as he can. heh heh..

11. It is a NEW FUCKING thing, frankly--post-Nixon.
It used to be, no one EVER used the GENERAL without the damned ATTORNEY in front of it.

It still grates on my old ear. The baaastid doesn't wear a UNIFORM, and I regard the term as in General: Overall, overseeing a bunch of subordinate attorneys...not General: Military Rank.

Years ago, you never heard the attorney general called anything but the attorney general.

14. Watching now...he is shilling for Gonzo, boy does he have a man crush
on the man!

"He's a good man...honest...did nothing wrong...a good Hispanic attorney general...things can be interpreted in a number of ways"

EVEN THOUGH Kyle Sampson's testimony basically proved Gonzo WAS at those meetings and WAS aware of what was going on when Gonzo said he didn't know!

16. remember ken starr?
the bushevik legal weasel? fat guy with body odor? old, grey in the head? goofy dorkie type? pinhead in pinstripes?
yes. that ken starr.
i head him referred to as 'judge starr', as 'mr secretary' starr, as 'mr prosecutor' starr, as 'chief' starr, as 'doctor starr'(?) and as 'colonel' starr...i can't recall 'general starr' but almost certainly...someone might have heard(?)
that was during the height of the clinton bashing period before geeb (that's 'jeb' or john ellis bush's, brother) came along....it was maddening cuz all 'dog' starr needed to be called was a whistle and a 'hey you'

22. Plural of AG is Attorneys General if that indicates anything.
I don't think "General" in this sense is a rank and I suspect RFK, in the quote posted earlier, was making a joke.
