Someone who still doesn't have a clue

Saw this car just now at the grocery store. Check out the duct tape on the bumper.

I wanted to find the person who drives this piece of shit car, and who supports this piece of shit president and ask him ONE question:

How's that working for ya?

9. I think he was working in the grocery store
The store closed 10 minutes after we left and the lot was nearly empty. I think it was an employee's car.

Isn't military pay higher than a grocery store? If he was in the military, maybe he could afford to take that duct tape off and fix his bumper right.

the "pastor" at his "megachurch" probably told him to put that shit on his car so everybody could see it as he drives back and forth from his job as a greeter at wally world.

31. Sorry that my vitriol offended you.
Really wasn't my intent.

Fundementalism almost did me in as a teenager.

One of my best friends turned a shotgun on himself, he was so conflicted and upset by it all. Sixteen years old. Destroyed by guilt-mongers. It's been over thirty years and I think about that every day.

Recently, I've started attending Presbyterian and Unitarian services, on occasion . . . to see if I can try to make some sense of it. It's all still very poisonous to me.

Say a prayer for a terminally confused person?

16. I'll bet if you asked him what the chimp and cheney have
done for him, he couldn't come up with a thing. He's driving an old, crappy car....more than likely working at a dead end job in a convenience store. The so-called "tax cuts" clearly aren't benefitting him. His idea of supporting the troops is that $1.50 magnet, so he's apparently not motivated to personally join in fighting the "war on terror" he claims to believe in. I'd say he's a pretty typical repuke - hypocritical and too stupid to realize he's voting against his own self-interest.

17. Saw a worse one
Edited on Sun Apr-01-07 01:35 AM by dragndust
last Sunday a.m. covered with stickers, more rust, the backseat full to the ceiling with refund cans and bottles. Elderly couple in their Sunday best, don't remember what they bought. At the counter I really DID ask them how GW was working for them!

On edit: All I got was a dirty look. When they left I told the cashier they were missing their "Can Pickers for Jesus" sticker.

27. More to be pitied than censured, them.
They have been betrayed at every turn. If by elderly you mean 70's, 80's, they lived through the Great Depression, fought WWII, grew up trusting their elected officials, and misunderstood their "hippie" teenagers.

If they are relying on refund cans and bottles to make ends meet at this time in their life, they need help, not sneers. Clearly, in their "Sunday Best", on a Sunday morning, they are not getting the kind of assistance they need from their church.

18. I'm not cool with photographing random people's cars and posting them on the Internet
Edited on Sun Apr-01-07 01:41 AM by WorldResident
I understand you have a constitutional right to do this and I also understand you did not photograph the LP, but something about this practice makes me uneasy.

I also understand the general point you're making that poor people, especially in the South and the West, irrationally vote Republican. This is well-taken.

22. I was just making a general point
I guess I wouldn't want a car with a bunch of Kerry stickers lampooned on FreeRepublic. Maybe I'm taking privacy advocacy a bit far here. I don't know.

However, privacy issues aside, I totally agree with your OP. :)

32. How is it a violation of privacy when the license plate is not in the picture?
I deliberately clipped the picture so that would not show.

Glad you at least agree with my OP :)

24. If the license plate isn't showing
And if a person's face or other identifying info isn't showing, the car's fair game. Obviously the owner WANTS to make a point (even if it is a stupid one), and wants the stickers to be seen.

26. That car is out in public
There is a point where "privacy" does not apply.

People put their own cars on DU sometimes, too!

Anybody can see your car out in public!

The government will photograph it, too, in some cases (like you going through a red light).

buy junkers and put stickers on them, maybe add something like "jesus still loves the president" or something, drive around in redneck neighborhoods...

Play that classic favorite made famous by Cool Hand Luke "Plastic Jesus" over a loudspeaker!

Seriously, it could be him, he has all the same traits as this fellow, drives a piece of crap car, takes his marching orders from the pigboy and that lunatic in Colorado. You know the one who likes to impress little boys with his big amerikan penis. The last I knew though he was driving a great big piece of chrysler crap, but I could see it covered in piggie stickers.
These are the guys we have to keep an eye on, they very well could be a danger to themselves and others, next time you're at that store maybe you ought to stick around undercover and get a look at this guy.
