Cartoonist Ted Rall has been laid off from United Media...is no one safe??

I just heard that Ted Rall has lost his job as an editor at United Media syndicate. Ted is the "controversial" cartoonist whose portrayal of Bush as a pointy-eared, fang-toothed dictator regularly drew the ire of Republicans and often Democrats, too.

He was an acquisitions editor, and helped select new features for syndication. His brilliant comic is still being syndicated, as I understand it, but he no longer has a "real" job (that's the way my family and friends described it all the years I worked on my own).

The brilliant cartoonist also is a first-rate author.
He absolutely pegged Bush and the War Party.

6. Too Bad for Ted

although I'm kind of shocked that he was still employed at a regular job after some of the incindiary things he wrote and drew.

Rall wrote the most amazing accounts of the war Afghanistan. He ignored the press conferences and went right to the villages.

9. They're huge.

They syndicate much of the content in newspapers, from cartoons to op-eds.
