By conventional standards unbelievable... By Florida standards just par for the course as The Florida Democratic Party remains absolutely SILENT on the pending legislation in the Florida House and Senate which among other things concentrates power in the hands of the Secretary of State and harkening back to times of yore, puts in place draconian restrictions on what should be a free and open political process.
The question is HOW do any of the provisions concocted benefit the voter? Plenty of power concentrated in the hands of the few, the corrupt and the fiscally endowed.
Consequences IF this bill becomes law...
* forces more voters to vote on provisional ballots, which have a high rejection rate
* further restricts voter registration groups
* imposes more restrictions on petition-gatherers
* imposes arbitrary fines
* expands the “no-solicitation zone”, keeping needed information from voters
* further limits acceptable IDS, denying eligible voters the right to vote
* increases the purging of voter rolls, with no time to correct errors before elections
* concentrates too much power in the Secretary of State
* sweeps away local ordinances and local voter protections
 The consequences for the rest of the nation politically? Please start calculat'n cause it ain't good!
Just beautiful, and just what function and who does the FDP serve? Hmmm? Answer: Themselves! :toast: NOT! err hic :toast:
Not a peep out of the inept and broken Florida Democratic Party??????????? Yes the Thurmad runks only cause me nausea :puke:

http://www.fladems.com/Please Take Action And Call Your Legislators Today!
Friends,
It is of the utmost importance that you make your feelings known to these misguided people who are charged with acting in the best interests of the citizens of Florida. In the event these bills become law and are somehow determined to be constitutional the character of Florida and of this nation will be diminished greatly.
If you have never called or written an elected official to express your view today is the day to get off the fence and get in the game. It is simple, takes but a minute and if nothing else you will feel better for having tried to stem this draconian set of constraints on the sacred right to vote.
Keep your calls going to legislators all over the state to VOTE NO on SB 956 and House companion bill PCB-EDCA 09-08.
This is but a first step that we must take to ensure that the right to vote is not further constrained and then and following that, we must ensure that our votes are counted fairly and in public.
