new newsThe head of a European investigation into alleged CIA secret flights and prisons said on Wednesday that European countries had actively supported the US spy agency's practice of illegally transporting terror suspects known as extraordinary renditions.
A total of 14 European countries -- Britain, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Bosnia, Macedonia, Turkey, Spain, Cyprus, Ireland, Greece, Portugal, Romania and Poland -- were designated as being complicit in "unlawful inter-state transfers" of people.
