Another bu$h lie uncovered - There is funding for the war through July
War efforts funded through July, analysis finds
POSTED: 9:30 p.m. EDT, March 30, 2007

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A new analysis of funding for U.S. military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan concludes the Army could continue to wage war through July without additional funding from Congress.

The analysis may bolster Democrats in their increasingly contentious veto showdown with President Bush.

In a report prepared for the Senate Budget Committee, the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service said the Pentagon has flexibility to transfer money from elsewhere for "urgent requirements" and could finance the war with current appropriations "through most of July 2007."

President Bush and Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, have said the Pentagon needs Congress to approve additional war funding by April 15, or military operations will begin to be affected.

1. So if the deadline to withdraw the troops is 4 months from now they
have all the money they need before they are supposed to be out?

8. I heard Kucinich talk today, he said it passed.
$150 billion for Iraq in the Budget.

What's for Bush to lose by vetoing the supplemental bill? He has his money, and then some. :(

3. Of course, as Kucinich has said repeatedly - there is money in the pipeline
to bring the troops home at any point in time.

Now, where is the will to save their lives, limbs, brains, and eyes

and bring them home safely?

5. This is sickening ! It is also very sinister. Just as you ask
why - why did he work so hard to lie about getting us in there

why - why did he work so hard to trash Wilson for uncovering the truth

why - why is he SO intent on staying there? Never once being accommodating. Never once speaking in terms of the future - when we are not there anymore. So worried that congress will make him get out that he will lie to insure that they don't

Which is worse - lying to get us in or lying to keep us in????

12. you are right. there are so many clues. why is it that we are the
only ones who see that? I think DU, if you spend time here, pulls it all together so well - to cast light on the evil. Unfortunately, it makes you frustrated that no one in the media is doing the same and you can't seem to do anything about it.

7. With $2.3 TRILLION missing at the DOD, I think they'll find some excuse & steal from domestic

spending anyhow ! This is what the CIA/GOP funding scam was all about that Carol Lam was getting into, before she was interrupted...

War on waste $2.3 Trillion missing from DoD's accounts
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/01/29/eveningnews/main325985.shtml

"""According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions," Rumsfeld admitted.
$2.3 trillion — that's $8,000 for every man, woman and child in America. To understand how the Pentagon can lose track of trillions, consider the case of one military accountant who tried to find out what happened to a mere $300 million.

"We know it's gone. But we don't know what they spent it on," said Jim Minnery, Defense Finance and Accounting Service.""

A GOP Congress lards itself up on pork and the DoD does its 'black ops' and off the books funding via drugs and voila, whaddaya get but The Octopus. You know, the story that Danny Casolaro and Gary Webb were breaking before their careers were deliberately ruined...much like Carol Lam's (no surprise there). What's truly ironic is now the GOP is deriding the Dems for loading the current Iraq War funding authorization as being 'larded with pork'. The irony is truly lost on the Operation Mockingbirded--Mighty Wurlitzer--Mainstream Media ! LOL !

No, you don't touch the GOP/CIA's cash cow or you're gonna get whacked.
