Glenn Beck talking about the End-Times...
Edited on Fri Mar-30-07 08:15 PM by meldroc
Tune in, if you can stomach the bastard. Right now he's got the authors of the Left Behind series talking about how Russia and Iran are teaming up, obsessed with destroying Israel, how they're actually Gog and Magog out of the Bible, and how we're on the eve of Armageddon...

How do freaks like this get prime-time coverage on CNN Headline News?

2. Pricks must have another book coming out
If they were so concerned about the endtimes you'd think they would give away the shit they pass off for writing wouldn't they? But no, they have nice houses and really nice cars for guys that are so sure that the sky wiz is about to come down and scoop them up.

4. You make a great point. And, why don't they use some more of their money
to help the poor, instead of buying all that shit. Hypocritical assholes.

5. Couple years ago or so Tim LaHaye was on the Maddow/Winstead show
He said the rapture would take place in the next 40 to 80 years. I figured it had something to do with the multi-book contract he'd just signed with his publisher. I mean...after the Rapturees are gone, who's gonna buy those books?? Actually, I can't figure who'd buy then now since, as you pointed out, they are so poorly written as to be almost unreadable. But that's just MHO. I'm a Former Fundie who gave up on the Big R a few years ago and I'm actually re-thinking my whole theology lately. The only End Times I wish for are those that include Bush and Crowd not to mention LaHaye, Jenkins, Robertson, Falwell, Dobson...the list goes on!

7. Yeah, like that other prick Moore
Edited on Fri Mar-30-07 09:20 PM by Rage for Order
Makes his Farenheit 9/11 movie, but has nice houses and really nice cars instead of giving the profits to people who were negatively affected by the war. And what about that prick Gore with his global warming movie? I mean, if he believes that we're in a huge crisis he should just show his movie for free, and any profits from appearances should go to environmental groups. The nerve! People making money off of their intellectual property! (sarcasm, in case you can't tell)

On edit: The books are fiction and the movies are documentaries. However, unless the books or movies are asking other people to live in poverty for the greater good, i have no issue with someone making money on them.

13. WTF man
Either try to understand the context of a reply or not but dear sky wiz, comparing the left behind wack jobs to Moore is a little out there even for a troll.

Lehay and his cowriter pretend to believe the pap they sell. Based on their supposed belief in the idea of the "endtimes" it's all over pretty soon. If they are so sure it's over why oh why would they work so hard to make money and save it when they could be using it to "convert" the unwashed? Not very fundie of them is it?

3. Russian and Iran are "actually Gog and Magog out of the Bible."
It's funny that they can believe the bible is so figurative and symbolic when it's convenient for them; however, if a more liberal Christian applies that type of symbolism to Genesis, asserting that it may be symbolic of the big bang, then suddenly it's completely out of the question. Selective literalism, indeed.

8. So if we can stop the Neocons' plans, Jesus won't come back? How long can we
hold Jesus off? 'Cause I think he can come back whenever he wants.

9. Does Lehaye explain his monetary and spiritual connection
to the "new" Messiah Moon?

"Scandal continued to dog LaHaye when it was revealed that he had connections with the Unification Church ("the Moonies"). The head of the Unification Church is Sun Myung Moon, who has proclaimed himself "the world’s new Messiah" and "the Lord of the Second Advent." LaHaye was the chair of Moon’s Coalition for Religious Freedom, and is reported to have received at least half a million dollars in funding from Moon’s associate Bo Hi Park. LaHaye and his wife have attended and spoken at Moon-sponsored events, though they have made it clear that they do not endorse Moon’s theological ideas.

LaHaye’s association with Sun Myung Moon is especially perplexing. As a man who has written so many books warning people about the Antichrist, LaHaye is one of the last people one would expect to ally with a man who literally is a false Christ."

A couple of Moon-Lehaye organizations-

"Concerned Women of America
Headed by Beverly LaHaye. The wife of Tim LaHaye, She too has been a public speaker for Moon functions.

Womens Federation for World Peace
Also headed by Beverly LaHaye and recipient of Moon funding. Former President George Bush Sr. (and one time former CIA Director) received an undisclosed amount for speaking engagements from this organization and his fee is lost somewhere in the 13.5 million dollar conference expense-line according to IRS records.

Family Federation for World Peace
Another Moon organization which held a meeting in Washington in 1996. Among the speakers at this event were Beverly LaHaye and Ralph Reed. Over 1500 notables from around the world attended.

National Religious Broadcasters
Members include Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Jimmy Swaggart, Tim LaHaye, Billy Graham, Bill Bright and many others clearly associated with Moon."

11. Beck is nuts
I thought he was just anti-muslim. But after watching this program, I think he has lost it.

They were all talking about the rise of Babylon (Iraq) and how antichrist will rise from Babylon. How Russia and Iran are coming together...

no mention of India or China - the two rising nations of Asia - perhaps because those who wrote the Bible did not know about these two countries. Their whole world was confined to the middle east.
