Homeland Security targets returning veterans as potential Rightwing Extremists
(U//FOUO) Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment
(U) Key Findings

* * * * * * * * * * * *

— (U//FOUO) The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of
military veterans
facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities
could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists
capable of carrying out violent attacks.

— (U//FOUO) Proposed imposition of firearms restrictions and weapons bans
likely would attract new members into the ranks of rightwing extremist groups,
as well as potentially spur some of them to begin planning and training for
violence against the government. The high volume of purchases and
stockpiling of weapons and ammunition by rightwing extremists in anticipation
of restrictions and bans in some parts of the country continue to be a primary
concern to law enforcement.

— (U//FOUO) Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are
attractive to rightwing extremists. DHS/I&A is concerned that rightwing
extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to
boost their violent capabilities.

3. Oklahoma City (1) - Millions of other returning vets who didn't
kill anyone (0).

I remember when I came home on leave during the Vietnam war and was dumb enough to wear my uniform. People threw things from their car windows at me, yelled insults, quickly drove off.
OK City poster and all your friends - maybe we can find a time and when some Iraq vets are coming home so you can spit on them.

4. I had similar experiences including a crowd from which a rock was thrown hitting my colleague,
commander of the ROTC unit, at a major university.

To those who deny such incidents occurred, I have nothing but contempt.

I wonder how many Obama supporters will disparage or worst returning military veterans from Obama's wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Probably a lot more than will volunteer to fight in Obama's wars.

6. Interesting comment.
Whenever we see someone in uniform, be it at a place like Wendy's or on the street, we always go up to them and thank them for their service. Not everyone is an *ss. Face it our country is full of haters! We stand peace vigil twice a week and it is sickening the comments that we get. There is no shortage of stupid, selfish folks on this planet. It looks like they hate the soldier and the peacenik equally...go figure. Peace, Kim

8. Many soldiers and peaceniks have a common bond, War is a Racket.
WAR IS A RACKET by Two-Time Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient, Major General Smedley D. Butler - USMC Retired.

5. what you put in, is what you get out...
too bad the VA spends so little time and money treating these veterans for the emotional trauma that occurs in every war.

7. This reminds me of the returning soviet troops that were captured by the germans during WWII
They were sent to the gulag because stalin thought they had become corrupted "ideas" from outside the soviet union.
