Why no Easter graphic on Google today?
Take a look for yourself:

http://www.google.com/

Lately, it seems that Google has been celebrating an increasing number of religious, political, and cultural anniversaries. So what happened to Easter?

No big whoop - just curious.

3. Don't you know?
Obama has forbidden it as an overt religious expression! :sarcasm:

4. None on Yahoo!, either.
Of course, I don't recall seeing one for Passover, either. But, it IS kind of odd...

5. They haven't done Easter for awhile ...

They used to. Rumor has it (and it is rumor ... I personally have no idea) that as Google grew in prominence, certain religious groups were complaining about being under-represented, so they pretty much nixed offering a special graphic for overtly religious holidays that weren't also U.S.federal holidays, e.g. Christmas.

7. Wow. Yeah, Google has almost always reflected the holiday in their logo
strange.

some past examples can be seen, here: http://www.google.com/holidaylogos00.html

8. christian symbolism will piss off non-christians. Bunnies and eggs will piss off fundies.
No-win situation. Better to stay out of it.
