Press Briefing by Dana Perino
Friday March 30, 3:08 pm ET

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--White House Conference Center Briefing Room
12:48 P.M. EDT

snip...
The President was surprised to learn that Congress went on vacation today, and that the House didn't bother to appoint any conferees in which to help try to reconcile the differences between the Senate and the House bills. And so I don't know how much work is going to be able to get done while they're away.

3. Oh STOP! Puhleeeeeeze!
According to an August 2003 article in the Washington Post, President Bush has spent all or part of 166 days during his presidency at his Crawford, Texas, ranch or en route. Add the time spent at or en route to the presidential retreat of Camp David and at the Bush family estate in Kennebunkport, Maine, and Bush has taken 250 days off as of August 2003. That's 27% of his presidency spent on vacation. Although to be fair, much of this time is classified as a "working vacation."

4. Hey! I don't think EITHER Congress OR the WH should have that many damn days off!
I'm pretty POed myself! Yea, I know Congress is working more this year than they did last year, but how in the hell can they justify an Easter/Passover break of 18 days?

They left this morning and won't return until April 16th!

It's sure as hell not because they don't have anything to do!

5. I think he
was just surprised cuz he didn't know. He forgot to check the vacation chart. But more likely, he only checks his own vacation dates. Although it mighte save time to list his work dates.
