Since I took geography in college (1960s),I've always owned a globe of some sorts. Had to buy a new one a few years ago due to all the changes the past 20 years. If you don't own one, they can be had for as little as $20.00 on eBay. Better ones by companies such as Replogle might cost $50.00 or more.

When your repuke friends or relatives are visiting, asked them point to Iraq or Iran on the globe. Or, maybe ask them to point to one of the "Stans" in the Caspian Sea area. You're going to be in for a shock. They sometimes take forever, and many times they simply cannot find them.

I've always thought Leno's "dimwits on Hollywood Blvd" sketches were very depressing and often wished he'd fess up about how much tape they had to edit down to give us the impression that everybody in California is that stupid.

I know people who are that stupid, but they're a minority. Most of them have enough bits and pieces of knowledge that when they act in a group, they get it right.

None of them is as stupid as the blivet is. He's a true representative of a class that feels it doesn't have to know much, that it can hire us to learn it all for them.
