Republicans "DON'T REMEMBER" anything. Ever. It's become a comedy.
Does anyone remember back when Steve Martin was a brilliant, funny stand-up comic? He did a bit about how not to have to pay taxes on a million dollars (I'm paraphrasing from hazy 1970's memory):

"First -- get a million dollars. Then, don't claim it on your tax return. When the IRS comes after you for not paying your tax, you say "I forgot!"

Is it just me, or does this comedy seem to have seeped into Republican reality? Rudy "forgot" about Kerik. Sampson "forgot" about communications with Gonzalez. Scooter "forgot" who told him about Valerie. The list of examples in almost endless. Over and over and over again, Republicans take the stand, put a Steve Martin arrow through their heads and say...

"I FORGOT!"

Why the hell is it that we're supposed to want these brain-dead amnesiacs to run our country? Someone help me out here...I forget.

1. A riddle.
What would you call someone that was questioned by a Senate committee and never used the phrase "I don't know"?

(Highlight for answer)

2. Two simple words in the English language.
Reagan couldn't remember anything during the Iran-Contra hearings either. Republicans also seem to have an attention deficit problem of some kind - Ken Lay had no idea what was happening at Enron, Rumsfeld had no idea what was happening at Abu Ghraib, Bush I was "out of the loop" on Iran-Contra, Gonzo was not involved with anything at DOJ, etc.

4. They researched, and found that "memory lapse" isn't a provable crime.
Hence, "I don't remember thinking that."
