Lou Dobbs: Obama "still didn't receive a majority of the votes in this country, just those cast."
DOBBS: Next year, 2010, which is, obviously, going to be a signature year because it will establish, first of all, the power of this presidency and this president, all that he is embraced by at least the national media, he still didn't receive a majority of the votes in this country, just those cast.

It's going to be a test that -- do you think that there's anything for any reason for Republicans to even have any hope whatsoever to come up against the (INAUDIBLE) of Democratic powerhouse?

4. Don't you know?
Gee, the ignorance of some people is astonishing.

Let me explain LouDobbsThink:

There are votes out there - sort of like the souls of babies who die before being baptized, and are thus consigned to Purgatory - floating around, wings flapping, and they are all the votes of people who didn't vote (SHUT UP! I'M EXPLAINING!) but who had definite preferences in the election.

The vast majority of these flapping votes are for a candidate other than Obama. LouDobbsThink knows this because he also has things floating around in his head, flapping, and they tell him secrets.

They were for Lou Dobbs.

So, unless and until these flying, floating, flapping votes find their way into the ballot boxes - and LouDobbsThink espouses constant prayer and eschewing Mexican food - we have a President who only got a majority of all the votes cast and counted.

But he did not get all the votes.

Clear now?

8. That's like saying if all the Democrats stayed home
McCain would have won. It's idiotic.

Somebody please tell that idiot that the only votes that matter are the votes that are cast.

If "his people" don't get their butts off the couch on election day, they don't count.

15. Wow! Dobbs is a mind reader as well as an expert in semantics!
Disregard what your dictionary says folks. A vote is the political preference held deep in the subconscious of people (including those that didn't CARE enough to actually go to the polls) that only Lou Dobbs is able to determine.

OMG! Dobbs is the answer to problems with voting machines people! Forget about holding elections. We'll just have Lou Dobbs probe the minds of Americans to determine who the people REALLY want.

19. What REALLY matters
Who got the most Electorial College votes?

If that's the only thing that mattered in 2000, then it's the only thing that mattered in 2008. You can't have it both ways!

But Democrats outnumber Republicans. And non-voters? Huge numbers of people just never give a damn about politics.

31. Um... so, who was the last president to receive a majority of all voters?
Seriously - you'd probably have to go back to the 19th Century - when the franchise was pretty restricted - to find anybody elected with a majority of ALL voters.

sometimes voting counts for nothing (like 2000) but those that don't cast a vote absolutely count for squat.
