talk me down?
Dear Mr. President,
The very idea of doing "what is right" disintegrates for me, when you do not show an interest or concern in prosecuting the Bush administration war criminals. These folks have broken both American and international laws, and have cost many, many thousands of lives. They have destroyed families, killed maimed and traumatized countless children. The list of terrible crimes against humanity goes on and on.

Morally, I just can't get beyond that. II find this be a tremendous source of shame..

3. I can't.
Between that, the continuation of the "war on terror," and the appointment of Arne Duncan and the plans for public education,

I can't talk you down. I can't, at this moment, be civil enough to write the president a letter.

5. well,how can he call out the past admin for its crimes
and still keep on justifying the need to continue pushing for more occupation of middle eastern countries? he cant. he has too many of Bush's old guard still in place. I dont think he will ever speak out against Bush and Co and their war crimes. by not doing so, he legitimizes them. which is a dangerous precedent to set.

6. I think its a real stretch to say he does not show interest or concern.
We've got to recognize this as one of many political issues he can't deal with at the moment, and watch things as they move on.

7. Whatever the President has in his own mind on this, I don't know
But I feel this is one that we, the people will have to push for.

Because this has the potential to tear the country apart and divide it even further, the President can't appear eager to follow the path to prosecution of Bush crimes.

Besides it makes sense to at least set the country on a path toward financial stability before going after the war criminals. Unless there is a statute of limitations, the war criminals aren't going anywhere.

8. I wish I could. I don't have the big picture - it's a lack of intelligence - both kinds. Yet,
I am with you completely.
I have at this point no alternative to a daily scream which is not good for my soul and psyche, but to trust that President Obama has the intelligence i.e. information, and the intelligence i. e. brainpower, to coordinate his priorities and do all he must in the order that will allow him to do the most good to the most people.
I fully believe he must deal with it forcefully, in order to not make himself co-responsible, and to make us vulnerable to abuses of power in the future.

I will accept, today, and maybe still tomorrow, that he is not actively impeding any others who push for investigation and prosecution.
I must trust that he will step up the plate he seems to be avoiding now at the time he thinks is right.

If I did not believe this, I would have to revisit the aforementioned daily screams.

both swore to protect the constitution, uphold the law and both agree that no one is above the law now it's time to prove it.

18. Talk you down? I want you to hang onto it.
I want your shame at what this country became in the past 8 years to become contagious. I want torches, pitchforks and tumbrils.

We won't have any hope of getting our country back until all the criminals, within the government and within the financial industries, are called to account for their crimes.

19. I know people hate the Nazi comparison
but, I think it is very relevant. Nobody would advocate that the world should have "moved on" and let the Nazi crimes slide.
