Tomorrow Vermont will become the first state to legislate marriage equality
There's absolutely no doubt the legislation will pass the VT House. The only question is will it get 100 votes out of the 150. The Senate overwhelmingly passed it. The House will too- though it won't be as overwhelming a vote (26-4) as the Senate.

2. They do. So does CT. Both states implemented it as the order of their
respective Supreme Courts. In VT, this legislation was introduced, independently from any court order. One of the things the right anti-equality forces parrot, is that such court orders take away the people's rights. Of course, that's a for shit argument, but it's resonated in many places.

OK, so I should have said that Vermont is the first state to legislate
it without being forced to by a court order. Anyway, I think you got the point.
