1. Used to drive from Reno to Tucson at night
You can see the lights of Vegas brightening the night sky from over 100 miles away.

Wonder what the darkness looked like last night from that vantage point of driving down US 95?

Wonder if the buzz and crackle of electricity in the air in Vegas diminished for that one hour...

4. Saw the same thing at the WV-Va. line in 1981
massive noreaster hit the east coast. We could see a huge bubble of light for ever. It was Richmond- 189 miles away.

We lived on the peninsula which is an hour PAST Richmond. A state trooper pulled us over there was a curfew..it was that big of a storm. The circus was at the Hampton Coliseum too (March) and they couldn't let the crowd go home, 5,000 people kids adults and all those animals all stayed the night. Ugh!
