Bwahahahahaha. Westboro Baptist Church thanks God for North Dakota’s flooding
North Dakota is "evil"? Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaa. Batshit crazy. This won't help them, believe me. ND? This won't go over well with the flatlanders (I grew up in ND). Giggling here, wild.

http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/235438/group/home/

The Westboro Baptist Church, whose members tour the country protesting at military funerals because they claim America is tolerant of homosexuality, is thanking God for record flooding in North Dakota.

“God sent the flood waters to cover the evil people of Bismarck and Fargo, ND, where you flipped off God and raised your hands against His anointed by criminalizing WBC’s gospel preaching against” gays and their supporters, declared a statement released Wednesday by the church, which is in Topeka, Kan.

The statement referred to House Bill 1040, a North Dakota state law passed in January 2007 that bars protestors from getting within 300 feet of a funeral. That law was aimed at the Westboro Baptists and its members, who protest because they believe soldiers’ deaths are God’s punishment for America’s support of gays.

3. A fruit cake wishes it had as many nuts as the Westboro bunch.
These people truly are backwoods ape shit crazy. They shouldn't be out in public without supervision. Some day, they're going to flip out and start shooting people down, because the voices in their heads told them they need to for some reason.

Inbred mutants, I guess.

8. Their plan is simple and effective.
1)Offend people as much as possible. Justify it with religion and freedom of speech.2) When they get bumped, or attacked or whatever, sue the police dept, and the city, the state govt, board of supervisors, everybody. That is how they get paid.

But I do NOT understand what it is that this Phelps clan thinks "god" is all about. I just don't get how every bad thing that's happened to someone outside the Phelps clan is "god's way" of affirming the Phelps clan's world view. This just totally boggles my mind. Does "god" work for Phelps? :wtf:

17. Phelps doesn't care about God
I think his use of religion jumped the shark long ago. They're all about law suites. I pretty much think that's what it's been about all along. They pump out these toxic messages in the hope that someone will attack them and they can file suit.

21. They fund themselves
Bunches of them are lawyers. They have a LONG history of suing the anything and everyone for any reason. Before the whole religious aspet of it got started, Phelps was a lawyer. Many of his family members are lawyers, as are many of his (very small) "congregation." They fund themselves, mostly, on lawsuits.

Wiki on them is pretty good:

All the principals of the Phelps Chartered law firm,<6> a firm founded by WBC founder Fred Phelps, are members of WBC. Phelps Chartered handles most of WBC's legal work and has received significant awards of attorney's fees from the Civil Rights Attorney's Fees Award Act of 1976 when WBC had been improperly prevented from picketing.<7>
