everybody's rights supporter. Labor union supporter. Safe working place supporter, fair wage supporter. Give money to almost every street corner mis-fortunate. So why do I always end up at odds with most of the people on here?

3. For instance I suggested making 24/7 child care available for
people who work evenings and weekends and holidays and vacations. Lot of remarks like not my tax dollars, or don't have kids if you can't take care of them or give them up for adoption. I don't have kids, but I am sympathetic to people that don't have family or money to afford after hours care.

17. I read your OP yesterday, but I only saw a few responses (I did not see where it went).
I think, of the few responses I saw, that your message was misconstrued. Perhaps you did not make your message clear. After-hours childcare would help many, many people... especially single parents.

As far as lobbyists... there are numerous parties that do not get their voice heard. Yes, many of those who get heard are of the 'big bucks' variety, but many are also those who have been marginalized. Politicians need to hear from them, too.

4. And today I called for outlawing lobbyist and let
the government represent the electorate. The silent majority voted and then are forgotten. Lot of negative criticism that I did not expect from people who I thought would be on the side of the poor and silent.

6. Perhaps those commenting understood that outlawing lobbying would
be unconstitutional.

8. I didn't see that post,
but would have been in agreement with you! That's a freaking fantastic idea! A government representing the PEOPLE not the lobbyists! What a novel concept!

14. Horrible idea. Lobbying is protected speech. We need lobbyists for the poor ...
who don't have to be silent.

NOW, the Human Rights Campaign, NAACP, LULAC, I could go on all day...

I didn't see your original post on the topic, but that would have been the response to taht one as well. Not to mention that it would be unConstitutional.

Opinions are welcome here, even woefully uninformed ones--just be prepared if your lack of knowledge makes you weak. I've been properly educated a few times when I spoke up without being sufficiently informed on and issue and took my humble pie graciously. Try it.

15. So what? Why does someone have to be as liberal as they think they are?
How good is each proposed idea?

So far, I see it as one out of two.

11. I think the people have a right to petition their government, but not with money, I also
think having a 24 hour daycare arrangement of some kind would be great. I had to work 3rd shift when my kids were young and it was hard especially when school was out for the summer. I had a babysitter at night then I stayed up during the day with them will SO slept, then he would get up while I slept. Wasn't the way we wanted it, just the way it was.
