News Scoop: Gov Schweitzer to be guest speaker at CT's JJB dinner
I found out last night from my DTC Chair that Gov. Schweitzer will be the guest speaker at CT Dems JJB dinners. WooHoo!!!! It's not published yet on the CT Dems web site.

About a couple months ago, CT's Secretary of State, Susan Bysiewicz, called me to inform me that she was running for Governor of CT in 2010. During our conversation, I told her that CT Dems need to get Gov. Schweitzer to be the guest speaker at CT Dems annual JJB dinner. He had a lot to teach the CT Dems running for governor about how to win. She had seen Schweitzer's speech at the DNC convention in Denver and had lots of praise for the Montana Governor. She told me that she would talk to the chair of the CT state Democratic Party about inviting Gov. Schweitzer to be the guest speaker at the JJB dinner. Looks like Sec. Bysiewicz came through.

Our JJB dinner is scheduled to be on June 1. I'll have to repair my favorite bolo tie so I can wear it to the JJB dinner. I got my bolo ties at The Little B Barn, a Connecticut tack shop. My best bolo ties, oddly, came from the Little B Barn and not from my trips out West. I think they send the best bolo ties eastward for better market value.

FYI: Connecticut has more horses per capita than any other state. Litchfield county has the most in the state followed by Hartford county. The CT Horse Council has some information about horses in CT. The University of Connecticut, which is in eastern CT, also has an Animal Science department and an equestrian team.

I'm looking forward to Schweitzer's visit and speech. I posted a diary at Left in the West, a Montana Progressive blog and at My Left Nutmeg.

2. I'd bet they are like our "Andrew Jackson Dinners" here in TN
Just a guess though.

3. Jefferson-Jackson-Bailey fundraiser dinners
Bailey is CT Dem power broker John Moran Bailey. He also served as the chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 1961 until 1968, the longest term of any chairman in history, and was generally seen as one of the main behind-the-scenes backers of John F. Kennedy.

CT's JJB dinner is the primary fundraising vehicle for the Connecticut Democratic Party.
