Holy Shite AIG changes their name
AIU - Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! American Insurance Underwriters. Should have been undertakers - they've killed the fugging world economy.

Rachel I'm cracking up here.

How stupid are these people? How gullible do they think we are? :puke:

7. Kind of like ValuJet "rebranding" to AirTran after they dug a crater in the FL swamps
by cutting corners on shipment of O2 canisters.

:argh:

If your company gets a bad name through crookedness or incompetence it should have to ride it all the way down to bankruptcy. It should require a judge's permission to change your company name - don't you have to get a judge's permission to change your name if you are a real person? Why should "synthetic persons", which is what Corporations claim to be, be any different?

:argh:

12. Corporate Witness Protection Program...
Shouldn't AIG at least have to roll over on a few brokerage houses before entering the CWPP?

13. They went back to their old name.
A name that was respected in the business worldwide. AIU is how the company was known overseas. They are re-branding and it's a good idea. One of the reasons that they became so large is that they have good products and tried to keep costs down and be the most competitive. AIU Holdings is the name that the insurance portion of the company has chosen to take. In a few weeks it will complete its break from the parent company. So, not all of AIG is now AIU.

Considering that AIG is trying to stay afloat and considering that they are attempting to divest themselves of some of their companies to be able to repay the government loan, it would behoove the taxpayers to wish them success.

But, I guess that laughter is all some can muster.........

:eyes:

14. How's this?
My mother has her annuity w/AIG & plans to retire next year. When this all started to blow up, she called them up & was assured that her annuity is with a *different* AIG - no connection at all to that *other* AIG that's being bailed out. I looked it up & it's the same damn company.

15. I can't help but think that they made things worse.
As posted up-thread, IOU and FU2 and just too perfect and they rhyme with AIU. Also, all are short enough that you can reall off AIG, AIU, your fav parody and "or whatever" in the same sentence whenever talking about them without losing the point of your comment.
