AOL pushing Obama/Bilderberg conspiracy theory.
http://news.aol.com/article/conspiracists-push-bilderberger-theory/382953

(March 15) - Another conspiracy theory surrounding President Barack Obama is making the rounds, according to Politico.com.

The latest one contends that many top officials in Obama's administration are involved in a clandestine global cabal bent on creating a one-world government that supersedes the United States.

For decades, conspiracy theorists have viewed the Bilderberg group, an international organization made up of political, financial, academic and military heavyweights that comes together annually to discuss world affairs, as similar to the Trilateral Commission or the Council on Foreign Relations -- two groups comprised of influential movers and shakers who, some say, control world events from behind the scenes.

And now, some in the Obama administration who have taken part in Bilderberg conferences in the past are gaining attention for their alleged involvement in a secret bid for worldwide domination.

AOL reports that Politico reports that Obama is a Bilderberger. AOL is using a so called conspiracy theory to derail Obama and ramp up the rightwingers for an Obama hatefest.

4. The big bad Bilderberg/Trilateral Commission
conspiracy theorists have been around decades... going all the way back to the Kennedy Administration. When I was in school, this alleged conspiracy was the major whipping boy of the John Birch Society. This very conspiracy theory is what gave rise to the black helicopter phobics and the one world government fear mongers.

Those most vehemently pushing the Bilderberg/Trilateral conspiracy theory in the 60's and 70's gave birth to many of the the isolationist, survivalist and anti-government whack job groups. It is all pure bullshit (one of the original "fear" tools of the far right wing until abortion and terra became so much easier for them to get some mainstream types to swallow)... and I am surprised that Politico, while certainly a right wing rag to the core, would associate themselves with these lunatics so overtly. Politico's subterfuge since they started, IMO, has been to appear mainstream while they spew RW garbage.

5. Unbelievable! They accuse Dems of everything THEY are. It's just
disheartening how the MSM runs with all this stuff, "some say...", etc.
