What in the hell is wrong with the Dems..
everytime Obama does something one Dem or another has a problem with it last one I heard was Charlie Rangell. Do the Dems ever talk to each other. Everytime we think that we are getting somewhere here comes some Dem help the repubs. With all of the hell we have been through you would think they would be trying to work with the pres to get things done.

I am sure after all of these years they should be familiar with the games that the media and the Cons are playing. I am taking names and spreading the word so when the next campaign comes I armed and ready for all obstructionists..

1. Unfortunately, Dems cannot orchestrate the Fascist lockstep...
that comes so naturally to the Republican right wingers.

3. All you need do is read a number of posts on DU and you will have answered your own...

question. Theres plenty of Obama, Geithner, and other criticisms right here on DU. Yep, the Dems. have a way of shooting themselves in the foot every damn time.

Seems pretty obvious to me that many Dems. want President Obama to fail as well.

4. how do you get from disagreeing
with some choices to wanting him to fail?

And I'm very happy to be in a party that isn't content with simply being in power. There are some pretty huge things we need to hash out in our country, and their importance and scope makes complete agreement on every move impossible.

6. Don't interrupt him, he's on a roll today
In fact, he wants all non-praise of Obama eliminated from this website.

7. I think that we have enough Republicans and Media bashing his every move....
I also think that President Obama is surrounded by many much brighter minds than are here on DU, therefore let them decide the course of action because neither you or I are going to anyway.

11. Three points
1. I think you're underestimating the average person here, or overestimating the average politician. Whichever, I don't agree with the "they're smarter than we are, so we should just shut up and stop questioning our leaders" sound of your post.

2. If they're going to do what they're going to do regardless of what we say, how is this a people's president or government?

3. And, if they're going to do what they're going to do regardless of what we say, in what way can our dissent on certain issues hurt any?

5. Nothing wrong with Democrats, except that we...
are comprised of many different constituencies with many different needs and points of view.

Charlie Rangell, speaking from Harlem, is in another universe from Tim Bishop or Steve Israel representing wealthy, white, suburbs on Long Island. Democrats in upstate New York, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and other places are in yet other universes.

Yeah, it would be nice if we could all get along in the real world (we KNOW we can't get along on the intertubbies) but the Democratic Party has never been unified. Just think how bad it was when all those Southern Republicans were segregationist Democrats before the big switch.

This bullshit has cost us, but I don't see any easy way out of it-- the people who could help are the ones causing the rifts.

10. That to me is one of the problems..
we have Evan Bayh and his group of 15 who represent only certain constiuents who really are republiCON lite they don't represent any other cultural groups. I haven't checked out who is in the group yet but I am quite sure there aren't many hispanics, blacks, asians or native americans in his group. That is what is wrong with the congress they only see this country as wealthy and white and don't consider the needs of most americans whatever their color.

When mainstreet needs help it comes in dribs and drabs and pennies but wall street and the rich get millions and billions to help them which they don't need. Most of these rich lost a lot of the money Bushco gave them through tax cuts and loop holes and they are trying to get all they can before the regulations start and they will try to make them as weak as possible. Let, the so called little people make a mistake in any transaction with the government and they will pay with jail, fines or both.

8. Media and Society, not the Dems
I think the media, in particular, and society in general have developed mass ADD. One minute he should do this the next he should do that. Hardly anything is ever done well, and if it is....it's the wrong choice or not enough.
Someone should remind Rangle et el what we got from Bush in his first 8 weeks....that might shut them up:)

12. Nothing -- they're acting like Dems.
Obama is riding high; even the economy shows some signs of maybe turning around. And the Dems are falling into their traditional formation: the circular firing squad.

And, let's face it, the Dems in Congress must have been feeling very left out in the last few months when it has been the Republicans who had stolen the circular-firing-squad formation.
