1. Obama
I read a lot about Chavez here and there seems to be those that worship him as saviour and those that completely demonize him. I expect the truth is at neither spectrum but to be honest, I am not certian which end he goes closer to. I'll stick with Obama.

3. i would prefer obama with a bit more of chavez's
concern for the common man.
clearly obama is no radical socialist and is in the pockets of the uber-classes, though i believe him to be a decent and smart guy, but until america elects someone more like chavez we will not get a fair shake economically or politically in this country.

5. How can you possibly believe he's a decent guy if you concurrently
believe that he's in the pockets of the uber class? So you believe people who are owned by malevolent forces can be decent? That's a passing strange definition of decent.

10. i believe people can be sincere and still be misguided.
obama is not dumb but he hasn't had the opportunity to see america through the eyes of all of its citizens. by the end of his term he will know a lot more.

14. but being corrupt (and that's absolutely what "being in the pockets of..."
means) is not the same as being misguided.

4. how come 2 votes for chavez equals 33% of the vote
when obama has only 4 votes? my math shills aren't great but that seems like 50% to me.

7. I just love open-ended modal auxiliaries in polls. The imagination can run wild.
Edited on Mon Mar-23-09 08:00 AM by TahitiNut
So, what range of conditions can fill the hole made by the open-ended 'would'?? God, we can drive a whole fleet of trucks through that hole. Let's see ... how about "if I lived in Venezuela"? (Obviously, Obama wouldn't be on the ballot ... and maybe the alternatives were all fascists.) The mind boggles at the range of modalities.

:eyes:

Why do I get the impression someone's fishing for bass?
